DYA717 Japan Railpass & Okinawa BURA-BURA September 24, 2024
[Fukuoka; Hakaata Station; Toyoko Inn (Fukuoka) Hakata-eki Bus Terminal Mae; Okinawa; Naha; Toyoko Inn Okinawa Naha Kokusai-dori Miebashi-eki ] This is a laid-back 2-person BURA-BURA railpass trip plus a few days in Okinawa. 6:30 a.m. musubi (nigiri) breakfast at the Toyoko Inn (Fukuoka) Hakata-eki Bus Terminal Mae. Today is moving day. We left the hotel around 9-ish, went underground, negotiated the maze and found the train station sates and got on the 9:30-ish subway train to Fukuoka Airport. There was only 1 stop before reaching the airport; took 6-minutes. Then a 12:05 p.m. flight to Okinawa which was had about a 10-minute delay. Got into Naha Airport around 2 p.m. Caught Yui Rail (monorail) to the Toyoko Inn Okinawa Naha Kokusai-dori Miebashi-eki just in time to check in. The rate was $51/nite includes free Japanese breakfast buffet. Then we went to Kokusai Dori (International Street), the main drag. I left “LA” there at Don Quijote, a big 5-story building – 4=stories plus a basement. Pointed her to a DAISO and went back to the hotel to do my own thing. At 6:30 p.m. we went across the street & stream to look for a place to eat. First place was fully booked so we went 3 doors to the right and found seats at Ryouji. Great place! Oyasuminasai!
