  1. I like these shorter form ones as well. It's more bite-sized viewing and gives flexibility to time skip around to things you may want to showcase without having to fill in commentary for everything.

  2. This is my most watched out of all your series, i don't want play dwarf fortress yes due to learning and all. But with this i can cover it without learning all ins and outs of it.

  3. Please make comprehensive tutorials 20-30min. You could start with what skills, items, animals that are good to have and other tings we should think about during detailed embark.

  4. I like these let’s play styles, I’ve been trying to watch the vods for similar content but find myself skipping forward constantly for the dwarf fortress analysis and info rather than naming dwarves after viewers

  5. Been looking forward to the new ep! Streams aren't my thing, but these edited vids are exactly what I enjoy watching. Would love you to continue doing edited content

  6. Hey Blind. I would absolutely love to see more Let's Plays. I learn so much from your vods and series but in the format of 5+ hour episodes it makes it difficult to keep up with and enjoy as a casual. Videos under an hour and in general this series have a tighter delivery than your 5+ hour VODs so I think you'd capture another audience in this format if you continued.

  7. I definitely enjoy Let's Plays. Stream VODs are not much fun to watch for me because so much of what's going on is dependent on the chat interaction.

I think later LP with a specific goal would be cool. Extensive mine cart systems, or finding adamantine as fast as possible, or a militaristic fortress that attacks nearby enemies come to mind.

  8. I don't really have a big block of time to watch a whole live stream and it gets annoying to try to remember where in a stream vod I left off; so would definitely appreciate more of these shorter episodic releases.
Really enjoy the format. Cheers blind.

  9. Love this series and kinda hope you make #11 soon. Really interested in that "Hot Rocks" zone and how best to explore and quickly take advantage of it as really cool to see Magma at that level
On me of the other key interests is as the goal is to get to a productive fortress of the faction, what key elements of the fortress and its production can accelerate that. More I watch and learn more I wish I had not stopped playing the game back in 2012! Yea, I'm 70, a Cannula hammer and back then after few years of ASCII got so get up not being able to remember key strings…lol.

@blind. Also am one of that majority with hidden disabilities as been 80% deaf & blind last 5 years and terminal since 1996.

Finally as you have stated often you really hate the if/and/or strings with the Work Order system and automating the fortress I think can really be a bonus, any suggestions as to who best to get to see fir that?

May I suggest a question to the DEVs when they visit in Jan/Feb…. While it is fun to fail in the game, what 20 tricks and tips are built in the game that if employed would thus beat the programmers and double the fun??? Example is seems few items that are smelted give back more that went in… And that obsidian short awards are far sharper that steel. But one I must know.. how to get best bioms like this one more consistently????

  10. I really enjoyed watching this fortress grow. Would love to see you continue to become a mountain home.

I started playing on steam and have loved every second but can't seem to become a mountain home myself. I thought it was population but with almost 300pop still nothing. 🙁

  11. Chiming in here, Loving this series, as well as the Quick Tutorials. They are all great resources.
As far as maintaining LPs going forward… they would definitely be interesting, but I understand the work required for them. I do prefer them to your long form Streaming Vods, but I do watch those as well.
Bottomline, do what works for you and don't burn yourself out. 🙂
Keep up the great work! Cheers!

  12. Understand the time and effort is quite high on top of twitch being the main gig, but I would quite enjoy further LPs after this is wrapped up. The stream reruns are my go to 2nd monitor content when playing and while the stories are goals of the save are entertaining it's difficult to keep track of even when trying to pay attention. Chat doesn't ruin the experience by any means but your narrative style and flow sans chat is enjoyable and engaging.

  13. I know you're not a kids channel (and I appreciate that), but one thing I like about the Let's Plays and tutorials is that I can watch them with my kids because you don't cuss in them, probably just due to being more scripted. Might seem simple, but that's one reason I watch them more often than the livestreams, and the kids and I have been enjoying seeing the fortress grow. They particularly liked the two-headed monster combat, and the phrase "smacked to death real hard" by traps 😀

They're also fascinated by the ghost dynamic, if you want to make a video a little more in depth about that.

  14. I love this LP and would really like more. I like the Twitch vods okay, but like … it’s mostly just you responding to comments from randos. Which I know, that’s Twitch, but I’m more interested in hearing your thoughts about the game and what you’re doing and why. The guided LPs are really helpful for me because it shows real world examples of design and responding to problems. It helps put the tutorial content in context. The community forts are cool too.

PS I adopted your rounded, asymmetrical style and I love it! My forts are so much more fun. Fuck right angles!

Edit: PPS: could you make a tutorial about different ways to move magma around? I’ve been trying to bring magma 100+ levels upstairs with minecarts for an infinite glass industry without building a 100+ layer pump stack with metal I don’t have, but I have just been failing over and over again at actually getting the magma into the damn carts and getting the carts out again.

PPPS: I’m running a world where I’m trying to save it from eventual goblin takeover. Could you do a guide on the different ways you can interact with other places in the world besides your fort? I’ve yet to take any place over or destroy it, just inconsequential raids.

  15. I've been having issues with Forgotten Beasts spawning in caverns and bricking my saves? After a certain point my games will just crash at the offloading units section of saving my world.

  16. Please keep doing let's plays. I like a good stream but I really like watching a game played from beginning to end and watching VODs of live stream is less fun as I personally find streamers interactions with chat a lot less enjoyable when I am not actually apart of said chat.

  17. Please continue. The vlogs are challenging because we don't get chat.

10:45 I took your no squares advice and it drastically improves how I feel about these games. Rimworld has tin shed vibes sometimes, even tho there's no tin right now.

    12:30 I don't remember dungeonz

  18. How does hunting work? Does the dwarf need a certain weapon to do it? (crossbow?) Is it dangerous for the dwarf?
Is there a reason to continue hunting when one has livestock up and running

  19. It'd be nice for another letsplay/let'steach like this, but maybe with something like like "a tutorial for haunted biomes" or "dealing with multiple hostile groups around". Could be nice to see
