  1. Mountain Creek got rid of all the really dangerous stuff from the Action Park days. You can still see the remnants of some of them like the alpine slide but only pieces of the track remain.

  2. A maintenance guy died at BGW. He was working at Big Bad Wolf, the train came around the corner, and now he’s dead.

A guy fell from a observation platform at Kings Dominion and died

A guy wiggled under his harness and purposefully fell out of the shockwave roller coaster at Kings Dominion.

  4. I heard a rumor that there are still some pieces of skull in the Batman ride area…
Allegedly his head exploded into tiny pieces.

  5. Mountain Creek is under different ownership and they got rid of all the fun…err, dangerous rides and they have a good safety record as far as I know. But Action Park will live forever in our hearts. That are surrounded by broken ribs and fractured sternums from the alpine slide.

  6. My mom would only ride the Merry-Go-Round at amusement parks. I used to laugh at her. I’m 62 now and I will only ride that ride. But after hearing all these accidents. I think I will be content next time I visit an amusement park to just people watch and eat junk food. 😃

  7. Retrieving an object you lost on a roller coaster yourself is never worth it. Now for a story: my aunt and I went to Harry Potter World in Orlando and rode on of their 2 roller coasters. At the end of the ride there was a sign that said “lose something on the ride? Let us know, and we’ll get for you.” After we got our stuff from the lockers, I told my aunt “ We need signs like that at every ride at every theme park in the world. People keep suffering serious and sometimes fatal injuries retrieving their stuff.”

  8. Even if it is very rare to die a theme park….the probability is never impossible. Also, the rarity of which it happens is no excuse to not just ask "When was the last time this ride was maintained?" Or "Can I really trust this guy to maintain a multimillion dollar piece of entertainment?" Or, dare I ask "Who signed off on creating this scrap?!"

However, there will always be those who try to cheat the system to get in a ride…that can't be helped by the people who run the stuff.

Unless you bear the moniker of "Action Park"…then you may not have a leg to stand on.
In all fairness to Action Park, it was the first "Water Park" the United States ever had. Especially if how prolific the name is.

  9. We can buy more hats people we can't buy more Lifes this is why most amusement parks have places you can store your hats or any other louse articles of clothing while on the ride!!!!!!

  10. Last year, we actually stayed at the hotel immediately adjacent to Mountain Creek Water Park. Unfortunately, we were there for a wedding on a weekend, so no wiggle room to go check it out. However, it's not the same owners and all the rides designed by non-engineers have been removed. So, it's not like Action Park anymore.
