Pretty sure it's recommended that you get heavy chest & pants for the significant boost in armor then the other pieces all have the same armor so you can choose any two pieces light and one medium. Correct me if I'm wrong

Is there a specific boss that drops the armorer pieces?

Definitely the way to go if you can make your own armor.
Can you buy Sticky Vines or do i need to collect it myself?
