Ashley Marie Monroe, 35, is locked up with a $1 million bond after Michigan law enforcement says she crashed into a group of 16 family members walking to a relative’s house along the side of a road. Monroe, who has four children and is pregnant with her fifth, was caught within minutes of allegedly fleeing the scene. I have no pity on a drunk. She made a choice BEFORE she got behind the wheel so this is 1st degree murder in the way I see it. Then, she’s assaulting her unborn child drinking while she’s pregnant!! 🤬

I have a lot of sympathy for people with substance abuse disorders, but that sympathy ends when they choose to get behind the wheel of a car. There are plenty of people struggling with addiction who never get behind the wheel of a car while under the influence. There is just no excuse for that.
Her Attorneys that she hired are some very expensive and experience lawers. I can't eait to see thos trial play out.
Imagine being pregnant with 4 kids depending on you and this happens…..she’s going to give birth in jail and maybe stay for the rest of her life ….just horrible

Drunk driving is never punished severely enough. Most states, if not all, automatically give you probation, for your first offense. That needs to stop. The excuse, that this was their first time offense, doesn’t necessarily ring true. It’s just the first time they were caught. They need to send a message and probation doesn’t seem to do it. If you get into a drunk driving accident, you should lose your license for life. If you are that irresponsible, you cannot be trusted on the road. If you think this is harsh, go to the funeral of people killed by drunks . Talk to somebody, who was injured in a drunk driving accident, that has lifelong permanent disabilities from it. Remember, just because the drunk was caught, doesn’t mean that was the first time they drove drunk.

It sucked alot having nobody and going through knowing your parents are in jail everyday. Trust me unless you have a parent in jail you dont know the horrible anxiety and guilt it brings. Pretty certain any prescription Anti-depressant medication would absolutely warn against drinking alcohol while on the medication. Certainly the doctor would discuss with patient.
Ultimately though, if you choose to drink alcohol and go from point A to point B,
—Call a cab
—Get an Uber/Lyft
—Ask a spouse/family member/friend to drive you.
In this day & age, there is NO EXCUSE for drinking & driving.
I heard a prosecutor say that it was often not judges, but empathic juries, who go easy on drunk drivers.
It’s not about the drivers rights, it’s about the right of victims lives to not be altered. WTFLIPPITY….NOT INTENDED TO INJURE?!? You intentionally got behind the wheel!
