Dramatic Moment Russian SU-35 Intercepts 2 US Nuclear Bombers over Baltic Sea

This is the dramatic scene, A Russian SU-35 fighter jet intercepted 2 US nuclear bombers over the Baltic Sea, just days after an US drone was downed.

On March 20, 2023, radars of the Western Military District Air Defense force on duty, detected 2 airborne targets over the Baltic Sea, Flying towards the state border of the Russian Federation. The targets were identified as two US Air Force B-52H Strategic Bombers.

In a tense standoff, Russia’s defence ministry reported that, a single Su-35 was scrambled to meet B-52 strategic bombers flying towards its border on Monday, but it returned to base when they moved away.

The B-52H intercept & the Baltic fleet’s drills follow the encounter between a US MQ-9 drone and Russian Su-27 over the Black Sea.

According to Flightradar24, a B52 Stratofortress bomber was flying at 26,500ft across Europe on Monday. Over the course of the flight, the plane crossed Spain from south to north, skirted around France, and then flew over the United Kingdom.

In the north sea, it crossed Denmark, flew up into Sweden and then down into Poland, then turned back to Sweden to fly over the Baltic Sea and back to Denmark.

Moscow and Washington are at their most tense since the Cold War, as Vladimir Putin continues to invade Ukraine illegally.

Ukraine has been robustly supported by the US and its NATO allies, with Russia accusing United States of fighting a proxy war in Ukraine.

Two of Russia’s nuclear-capable Tu-95MS ‘Bear’ bombers also flew over the Sea of Japan on Tuesday.

Russia said the strategic bombers made a ‘planned flight’, escorted by fighter planes. It was carried out in strict compliance with international law and was made over neutral waters, the defence ministry said.

As Russian strategic bombers and fighter jets flew over international airspace near Alaska in February, at that time North American air defence forces intercepted them.
