About Dragons of Deceit
Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman return to the unforgettable world of the New York Times bestselling Dragonlance series as a new heroine—desperate to restore her beloved father to life—sets off on a quest to change time.

“I love Dragonlance and I love Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Plain and simple. Their books are my favorite fantasy series of all time.”—Joe Manganiello

Destina Rosethorn—as her name implies—believes herself to be a favored child of destiny. But when her father dies in the War of the Lance, she watches her carefully constructed world come crashing down. She loses not only her beloved father but also the legacy he has left her: the family lands and castle. To save her father, she hatches a bold plan—to go back in time and prevent his death.

First, she has to secure the Device of Time Journeying, last known to be in the possession of the spirited kender Tasslehoff Burrfoot. But to change time, she’ll need another magical artifact—the most powerful and dangerous artifact ever created. Destina’s quest takes her from the dwarven kingdom of Thorbardin to the town of Solace and beyond, setting in motion a chain of disastrous events that threaten to divert the course of the River of Time, alter the past, and forever change the future.

  2. I felt just like you did when the book came in the mail. Its been so long since the last be dragonlance book that I think the last one was delivered by a man on a pony with a satchel and a name like Wilber

  3. Joe magenelio is actually a fairly big name when it comes to d&d nowadays. Hes probably the biggest celebrity ambassador when it come to the hobby. He also always sights dragonlance as his fabe setting and books for d&d. I assume he got the qoute because he popularized dragonlance for the modern d&d community and spoke to wotc hevely about more dragonlace based stuff.

  4. I was very disappointed in the novel for about 90% of it. The stakes were so low and Destina completed her quest with hardly any difficulty. It was a real slosh to read. Then the last 80 pages the stakes jumped through the roof at such an astronomical level. The next volume will be insane

  5. When I first got the book, I thought it would be a retcon of the Fifth age. Then the book went no where and I thought maybe it's an explanation of how the Irda got the grey gem. Then I was like, maybe it explains what happened to the non-fifthage future Tas visited the first time and why it changed during the Chaos War.

Then the whole book took a sharp left turn. I don't want to spoil it, but after a long boring quest that I meant nothing this book ends on the ultimate of cliff hangers, not just for the characters but for all the readers that have been following the novels and all the authors that have contributed to the lore. Book two cannot come soon enough.

  6. I will be buying the hardcover as well. I have the digital version but this book is so fantastic I want to own the hardcopy. I’ll be honest I am not a fan of the cover. art. I think it makes sense to have Destina, Saber and Tas but I would have also added maybe another character aside from the Dwarf (whom I believe is Wolfstone) Kender looks too comical. It would be nice to have Larry Elmore do the cover art but I know he no longer does commission work these days.
