Dragon Corridor at the Grand Canyon | Maverick Helicopters

One of our favorite things to see while flying over the Grand Canyon is a section called the “Dragon Corridor.” The Dragon Corridor transverses the canyon from the North Rim to the South Rim and measures approximately 16 miles wide! The Dragon Corridor gets its name from its unique rock formations. When viewed from the sky, the rock formation resembles a dragon laying on its side.

The best way to see the Dragon Corridor is from the sky! On our Canyon Spirit helicopter tour, soar over Kaibab National Forest, the South Rim, the remote North Rim, and more on this unique aerial excursion. 1. I knew a B52 pilot. Before there were enough B- 52s to go around, He was getting time on a B-36 Peacemaker. They were on their way to Puerto Rico from Minot ND. They had their Hawaiian shirts and their bicycles packed in the plane, looking forward to the climate, rum, etc. He got a recall order, to turn around and fly to Travis AFB.
It was up to him to decide on the route. He dropped into the Grand Canyon, wingtips level with the South rim, and flew inside the canyon for it's entire length..
I wonder if a tourist got a pic of that awesome 10-engine bomber flying in the Grand Canyon ??
    RIP Major Porch
