  2. Ah this is the first episode where things start getting kinda serious. It is also the first moment Goku starts losing his childlike innocence and see how the real world looks when actual bad people appear. The first step from being a naive child to a (bit less) naive adult.

  4. What makes Boras death so Sad is that it gives off the child losing their parent vibe that you would see when Simbas dad Mufasa was killed by his Evil Uncle Scar and when Littlefoots Mother was killed by the T Rex called Sharptooth.

    Goku finally found Grandpa Gohans dragonball(the 4 star ball), but he knows(deep down) he’s going to have to gather all 7 again for a certain wish that he knows he’s going to have to make.

  7. The land of Karin or the Valley of Karin attention to that name, soon you'll hear more about that. General Blue was destroyed by Tao Pai Pai so easy, showing you that he is not messing around. Bora could be so strong but Tao was merciless and killed him so easy too. This is where Dragon Ball turns serious and you actually saw Blue and Bora's deaths.

  17. The money in dragon ball is not equivalent to the money we have in europe or Us, it's like in japan with their yens, so billions in dragon ball is like millions for us, so yeah Red ribbon army can pay a few millions 🙂

  18. 長く登場し続けていたブルーの呆気ない退場劇。

    出番が長かった分、そのブルーを舌だけで倒す新たな強者登場というのは、インパクトがありますよね。

    しかし、レッドリボン軍にはどれほどの資産があるのか気になります。

    桃白白が要求する報酬額は明らかにいかれており、どれだけ金持ちであっても彼より安く仕事をつとめるヒットマンに依頼するでしょうから、桃白白はあんまり稼いでないのでは？と思います。

    ウパの父、ボラの死はあまりにも突然で残酷で悲劇でした。

    何度見ても嫌な気持ちになりますね。

  19. Congratulations you've made to the point where Dragon Ball's tone becomes far more serious, it will still have gags but they won't really help with the plot (Like Penguin village).

    Honestly though just think about this: Tao's Tounge>>>>>>>getting crushed under water by a huge-ass building.

    General Blue survived that and Tao beat him with his Tounge lol.

  21. that was quite the shocker alright. I can tell mah girl did not enjoy that last scene at all.

    Well the nimbus was just late and it only came for Goku's call, it didn't know anything about the flying man about to get stabed in the blink of an eye.

    Tao is the worst of the worst but he will get what's coming to him.

    After that it will be the beggining of the end for the RR army… for now.

  25. RIP General Blue. His arrogance, that he thought he could just walk back to RR headquarters with no consequences, was his ultimate undoing. His death by tongue is probably the first on screen death that we see in the series, which makes it so shocking. Up until this moment, character deaths were only alluded to but never depicted in such raw detail.
    Tao is legit a truly scary villain; nothing Goku has ever faced up until now. Growing up as a kid and watching this for the first time, I really despised him for killing Bora, Upa's father. Nevertheless, as an adult, I can now appreciate the exaggerated quirks of this character. He is simultaneously amusing and terrifying.

  26. To be fair, you wouldn't be wrong calling Upa poor. At least, if we're talking conventionally.

    Pretty sure Nimbus can't stop a spear. I believe it was going to Goku so that Goku could intervene, but it wasn't fast enough.

Ok… As I haven't seen the anime for decades, I can't tell for sure, but if what you showed us in your edit of that tragic scene at the end is what you got in your version, then I'd say censorship has kinda butchered it, and it's no wonder you don't understand what happened. As I remembered it, it was very explicit on what happened, and the overall tragedy was much more emphasized.

  35. General Blue was a strong fighter and ki manipulator even without his paranormal psychic power; he's an opponent that Goku tried and tried to beat and never beat by just himself. General Blue's greatest foe wasn't Goku but himself, such as his overreaction to a mouse!

    General Blue killed or otherwise executed who knows how many people in his command for silly failings. Few people deserve the irony of a death for failure like he did; yet, it seemed a waste. Tao Pai Pai killing Blue with absurd ease, General Blue's fighting skill a joke, and even his paranormal power useless against the mighty assassin.

    Definitely evil taking out evil. General Blue killing Red Ribbon Army personnel for absurd reasons, Tao Pai Pai killing Blue, but lots of innocents suffered as well.

    Like Bora, the father in the story and guardian of the tower. Bora PROVED he was a bad ass warrior, far beyond normal in his own right, yet Tao Pai Pai killed him with contemptuous ease. General Blue and Bora, an enemy and a friend of Goku, the one Goku failed to defeat, the other stood up to the Red Ribbon Army pretty well by himself. Both might as well have been ordinary men for fighting Tao Pai Pai.

    Penguin Village was something of an intermission in the Red Ribbon Army saga, where the gag nature of this universe was given full swing. In this episode, things just got real, Goku doesn't seem like he can cruise OR struggle to a victory against a foe like this greatest assassin.

  37. Oh, that HUGE diamond that Bulma had stashed in her panties earlier on was worth a billion zeni (a zeni is about one Japanese yen). Tao's hits of ten billion zeni are 'worth' about TEN of those diamonds!

  38. Not even shot gun, sniper rifle or machine gun can do anything to Bora's body, yet a spear thrown from below can pierce through Bora. That shows how strong Tao is. We are reaching another domain of martial arts. That spear travels so fast against the force of Earth gravity and the velocity is still fast enough to pierce through a body that not even bullets could pierce through. If that spear was thrown from above that would make more sense, but this one was thrown from below.
