  1. yeah LRR "helping be a more authentic person" is me too. Having such a welcoming community, and just being yourselves unapologetically has legitimately helped me have confidence being myself more. It's greatly appreciated.

  2. Interesting that you got my two postcards from Ireland/UK, but not the one from Jordan that I had to send from home because I ran out of time. I look forward to seeing it next time. I sent all of them in May/June 2023 by the way. I'll be back there again in a year for a wedding, so expect more cards in 2027 I guess?

  3. This Mail Time was edited where nuts are present. Isn't that every Mail Time?

05:30 – There's one thing that beats anime cons for overwork: Furry cons. Having done them both multiple times, I can assure you this is the truth.
06:43 – "The trees have sent us a postcard!" -they're secretly really really tall dryads.
18:30 – THE MOONBASE MUST NEVER BE TREATLESS AGAIN!

  4. I've accidentally finished a 24-count magazine of seaweed snacks like those in like 48 hours one time. This is inspiring me to visit my local International-Mart and try again.

  5. Presuming the Gaelic was the greeting Dia Duit, the best phonics I can offer is Dee-ya Dit (closest to English phonics anyways)

Editing after the sign off read, close enough! Slaw-n go f-oh-l is the phonics I'd use

  6. Re: Canada in media:
I was watching a Korean drama show, and one of the guys had a business meeting with someone from the US. When they spoke English, it came out as a thick Ontario accent so I was stunned. Turns out he grew up in Ontario for 12 years then moved to Korea. I did not expect a K-pop looking guy to sound like a MacKenzie brother.

  7. Cutty Sark and Greenwich Observatory are honestly some of the coolest things I've seen in England. They have the original models of the clocks that cracked the longitude problem, which if you like old clocks like me is incredible.

  8. The name of the town "Celle" is pronounced the same way as the German word for cell (Zelle) – something like "TSELL-eh".
You can pretty much flip a coin to figure out whether a standalone "c" in a German word is pronounced like "k" or like German "z" ("ts").

  9. Honestly, there's a lot of gambling happening on Guernsey, but it's all of the online kind — there's a lot of servers for it hosted there for regulatory reasons (and I think some of them physically are on Jersey but somehow in the jurisdiction of Guernsey … IDK, I haven't worked in the biz since 2021).
