I think your comment about needing to set population limits is wrong. We currently see decreased sperm count and repopulation numbers dropping across most countries and average age moving closer to 45 (which is roughly infertility for women). I’m not saying that we don’t have the technology to support more people but that we’re roughly hitting maximum density and the borders of the Game of Life evolutionarily. Also we see how China one child policy has backfired (which they even did after killing ~7x what Hitler did).

Does your cold computing assumptions and scales from the 60s even apply to say quantum computing? if thats what we have now, should we not assume something equally mindboggling next after quantum computing and so on? the assumptions are killing me!
regarding dormancy, you do that long time not in your prime but when assured defeat, so you go dormant as you have before, because you know likelyhood for the enemy not existing that long is high and skipping hibernation and fighting might just prolong the enemys vigour and longevity.
The Reapers were fine – the writers/makers just did a really bad job at what it is there job to do. You tend to make certain assumptions not actually based on anything solid yet talk down about others that do the same, or rather, about what theirs are.
