Skito Saddle Pads

I was in the market for a new saddle pad after my old one wore out.

Agnes, my riding mule, has a bad back and it makes a big difference to have a good saddle pad.

  2. One sure way to negatively impact your old age is to live every day, thinking about getting older and how/when it's gonna affect your abilities. I'm 67, and have many health issues that were supposed to have taken me out by now (liver and kidneys). When I want to do something, I just go do it. I can't see dwelling on my age or health…or I might never get the uumph to get out of the chair. There's things I need to do, and things I want to accomplish before my time comes. Ten years ago I was told I had 5 left to live, and I'm still here…and in the middle of a huge renovation on my house! I will finish it, and I will be around to enjoy it. I don't have the energy to spare to think about an alternative.

  3. G'day Brett well old mate I will turn 75 on the 20th December about 12 months ago I to had to make a switch a roo decision regarding health if I wanted to keep going bush and hunting and trapping alone.I was 97kg nealy 6ft in the following 6months I gave up beer all processed food and no snacking between meals I eat meat vegetables and fruit and a little bread and nuts no dairy foods no sugar. The weight dropped off to 87kg and I feel good within I also do stretches every morning I walk for 20 minutes daily that's not a lot but I find it keeps everything mobile without stressing things out. What ever you do don't stop doing what you love that's the stress relief button that works.ONWARD AND UPWARDS your old Aussie mate Gavin who loves what you do bringing all that wonderful country riding to us all.

  4. People and doctors underestimate how important your attitude and outlook on life is. If you don't consider yourself old, and stay busy doing what you enjoy, that is more important than diet. Keep riding and enjoying your majestic desert, watch where you put your hands and feet, and you will live a long time in good health. Ride Clyde more, please.

  6. I was hiking up to a spring with my wife last Friday. I told her I needed new boots for this terrain. Moments later I slipped and fell and my gun barrel hit me in the back of the head and bruised my arm pretty good.
When we got home she ordered us both new boots 😅.
It helps when you have someone who supports your lifestyle.
Glad to see you still getting out there 👊

  7. I'm 68, I lost a right hip to cancer and ruined my left knee with the cure (mid to late '90's). The hardest for me is I can't walk very far and it hurts all the time. But I try to eat well and not sit too much even though it doesn't feel to good to walk around. We all get old and the worst part is attempting to stay active with all the old man stuff catching up with me. I very much enjoy your vids and hope you can keep doing what you love. It's about quality of life not quantity of life . Keep on Riding Sir!

  8. Selfie stick in one hand, reins in the other. Something they just didn't have to deal with in the old days! I don't think Bonnie likes mountain climbing. Seems to enjoy the grass buffet, though! Thanks for taking us along, Brett! And Happy Birthday. I tell my wife you are "the old guy with the mules". She is one month older than you. I better stop saying that!

  9. Wow that's a good video, you got us all thinking about our age lol, I'm down here in Rio Rico Az, and I have a few years on you and my wife gets worried when I'm out in the mountains, so I found a website to get back in shape it's called A Better me, just take a look you might like what it has to offer, so just keep doing what you do best, that's life on the trails, so be safe my friend…💯👍🙏🇺🇸

  10. I'm 60 (how is that even possible?) and have been a law enforcement officer since 1987 and am still going strong…though not as strong as when I was 23. Anyway, I'm really an outdoorsman at heart and have no problems hunting, shooting, hiking or camping by myself.

  11. This last June my doctor diagnosed me with diabetes and prescribed about 10 different pills. I'm 69 and thought all my pains, insomnia, weight gain and knee pains came from old age. Up till a couple of years ago the only medications I took were for high blood pressure and knee pain. I decided to make life style changes for six months instead of taking all those pills. I read Jason Fung's the "Diabetes Code" and looked at his videos. I stopped eating processed foods, bread, carbs in general, and all sugar/and sugar products. Try to eat onIy non processed food and test my blood and blood pressure twice a day. I learned that all my physical complaints were not separate issues or a result of old age but part of diabetes and metabolic syndrome. I feel so much better and my readings put me most days in the average range non diabetic. I would encourage you to test for diabetes and look up Jason Fung. Your travels lift our spirits and you're younger than you think! Sorry for the length of this comment.

  12. Just keep doing what you are doing, I’ll be 76 the end of the month and am glad for every day I get! I cut and collect fire wood and then split it, nothing better than a nice warm fire. We live outside of Cincinnati Ohio so it is a bit cold here right now! I hope to travel out west again especially the Southwest.

  13. The guy in the email was probably right about having a way to get help in an emergency, and in this day and age there’s no reason not to. I’m sure everyone has heard of devices like the Garmin Inreach, they’re not that must, maybe $300, their basic monthly service starts around $10 bucks. I just turned 77, had 2 heartaches in 18 years and at least 30# over weight. I still hunt and fish but I have to just take it slower and sometimes I forget that parts. I keep reminding myself I need to slow down and I don’t mean stop doing anything but do what I’ve always done just take my time, after all I was never in a hurry in the first place. I hope that makes sense.

I am 76 and really blessed in that I don' take any medicine, just a few vitamins, I am a little slower by went back to work welding inspecting in Sept. Remember a lot of getting old is also in your mind, don't worry yourself to death and don't give up. Lord bless you and yours!

  16. I’m 44 now. Had an artificial hip at 31. I was rough and tumble when I was young. I wish I could do the things you do now. I have worn out this fake hip and struggle to walk more than 100 feet. Eventually I’ll have it replaced again. Your content is great to watch sir

  17. A generation goes away, and a generation comes! We all grow old and die. The wisdom from the Bible tells us when we age we get to a point where someone else makes decisions for us and we're forced to go where we do not want to go. We will be led by others. I believe in a right to die in peace. I'm 70 no meds, bilateral hip replacements by the time I was 63 and I walk 20 to 30 miles a month. I retired moved to Africa where my younger wife and I own 2 small farms, she grows a lot if what we eat! As an American and I age I realise my younger wife will make decisions for me and that scares me a bit. Here I'm sure I can get my hands on some morphine when that time catches up with me. My Uncles lived well into their 90's and my Grandmother to 104. When I get to a point where I can no longer wipe my own ass, then I will end my life, and join billions of others before me. In God's care. 🌍

  18. Can't believe some of these diets or what is said- vegetables cause inflammation? Carnivorous diet doesn't? Come on! 😄Yeah, best thing for ya, or me, is being out in those hills there. But be careful. In a couple of weeks, I'll be 67. Man, you got a big family!

  19. My mother is 69 years old and is in the best health of her life. She lost over 100 lbs and reversed type 2 diabetes with a healthy diet and exercise. She started in her 50s. Shes doing so well that she now competes in figure body building competitions with ladies my age and wins! She does all of this naturally and is keeping the weight off, she does have a coach, so that helps. What I’m getting at is that you can do it. It’s never too late to start and succeed. I enjoy your channel so much and I am so happy that you felt comfortable enough to share this with us and that you are trying to better your health. We all care about you, love your content and hope to see more for years to come! I have faith in you, Brett. Good luck in your efforts and know I am rooting for your success! As I’m sure others have said, part of living well is doing what you enjoy best. Being out in those mountains with your hounds and mules is such a wonderful way to live. Here’s to many more years to come! Thank you for bringing us along for the ride.

  21. Brett when I was a lot younger 13-14 yrs old and running a little trap line I would say to my siblings that I was born a hundred years too late. So when I ran across your videos I had to check it out. I've been a fan for quite awhile now and while your western landscape is very different than the northern coast of Maine where I live we are not so different in our love of the outdoors. I've had one knee replacement in 2017 when I retired and I turned sixty nine on Dec. Fourth. I weigh more than I should and should probably exercise more but I feel good and the doctor doesn't give me to much of a hard time. My point in all this is we need to be happy in life and doing what fills our souls will keep you and me and all those like us going . Keep riding and exploring and I'll keep wandering the woods of Maine. Stay well, love your videos. I'm working on losing ten good luck to us both

  22. Good morning Brett. Check out Dr Ken Berry videos on carnivore diet. I got on back in January and I've lost 65 lbs. I'm 55 now and feel so much better. I've been a trucker since 1992 so packed on the lbs over the years. God bless ya and hope you and your family have good health. Take care. 🇺🇲🌲🔥🔪

  23. I spent most my time out alone and camping alone so to make my wife and daughter happy I finally invested in a inreach.
It gives them more peice of mind. I just had a birthday and gained another year and I feel you getting out and going is so much better than sitting on a couch. I like to stay busy but it get harder as we get older.
