Lets take a look at how much a chicken would cost you broken down in various pieces, verses what it would cost to break it down yourself! This chicken cost $13 on the nose, with a final value of 30.81! Thats a total savings of 17.81!
With a little practice (and no camera in your face) you should be able to break a chicken down in about 5 minutes, and it takes about 10 minutes to start the stock and wash the pot afterwards. That means if you did this 4 times you’d be saving upwards of $70 per hour!

Chicken doesn't cost that much where are you shopping, Buckingham Palace?
Had a conversation with my wife earlier today where only buying whole chickens was the subject after I bought another whole chicken while making a batch of chicken stock from the last few chickens I bought. It was basically the same logic. I can spend $9 on a bird and get 1.5lbs of meat from the breast and thighs and still have wings, drumsticks and a carcass leftover to make stock, or I can buy 1.5lbs of breast or thighs for $9.
See I was gonna give you a pass for the sashimi and holding your finger that way. You naturally do it
great video
This is precisely why I only buy whole chickens. I've got 8 carcasses in the freezer to make stock now that it's fall.
People calling him a hack for letting all that meat on the body have never cut a chicken: doing it flawlessly is harder than it looks.
I thought 10€ per kilo is expensive… Damn
