Thank you! I’ve been procrastinating on the expedition, but realized I’d really regret it if I missed out on the rewards, so here I am. This is a great guide! It’ll be very helpful for when I’m doing the expedition later today. (Update: I completed the polestar expedition in 3 hours and 10 minutes!)
Comments:
1. If you claim the golden vector, the weapon you get isn't suitable for mining planetside at all, as the weapon doesn't have any explosions. Which means you should probably claim it after mining the planet.
2. It's worth noting that you can claim the Normandy freighter many times for some reason (I claimed the Leviathan first if that matters). So I just claimed it 7 times in a row and got the milestone instantly. You only get one copy of the ship, but the game just lets you reclaim it over and over. If you do this you basically don't have to save up money for the expedition besides for the milestone, saving you a lot of time. Also, since I claimed two frigates I went over the 2 frigate limit you mention later in the video. So might be worth mentioning that before you tell people to claim stuff in the anomaly.
3. I've never seen you mention this in a video, so: If you hold S (backwards) in your ship, your ship will automatically track and turn towards the enemy pirate ship (and way faster than you can turn manually unless they are already in front of you, at which point manually adjust). This makes all space combat basically autopilot/ez mode.
4. You can buy contraband between every pirate mission.
5. If you need credits in any expedition, it's worth noting that you can check the teleporter selection for a player base called something like "xxx Mine" or "feel free", etc. These bases usually have some miners you can just instantly become rich off of. Just make sure the planet is safe (not super hazardous or high aggression) so you don't get trolled. It also lets you scan a bunch of things instantly while you're doing it. Sadly I don't think you can do this with freighter bases (at least I couldn't find any), so no ez 5 million from the optional milestone.
6. Didn't realize there was a teleporter in the freighter (between hangar and bridge) now until I went to the second rendezvous system, lol. Awesome addition, might be worth mentioning for new players (or those who just drop in to do expeditions).
7. Didn't have the antimatter (or chromatic metal for it) to make the teleporter room. Did have loads of activated copper I could use though.
8. Maybe I missed it, but I don't think you mentioned deconstructing the Nautilus bay to get materials back.
Probably the best guide you've made yet, not a lot of expedition breaking "bugs". 7 being the only one where you'd be stuck if you followed the guide slavishly. (but it's not hard to get some antimatter anyways). Besides this I think the biggest improvement you could make to your guides in general would be to support the video with text summaries for each segment, so I don't have to take my own notes or rewatch each segment while I'm doing them.
Also, is it possible to claim twitch drops anymore? Or was it a one time event? Kinda salty I don't have any claimable multitools even if I've done every expedition.

Due to circumstances, I was only able to start this expedition with 7 days left to complete it. I thought this might be the first one that I would not finish. Your walk through tutorial was perfect. I can not thank you enough. You do make some of the very best guides I have ever used, hands down, and yes, I can see how you organized your missions and landing locations precisely for maximum effeciency. Superb job.
Wanted to say thank you, this is my first expedition, and this video made it a breeze! One thing I learned is that even sending your fleet out on missions is the only thing that matters, it still counts even if they get hurt and return early, or even you just send them and abort the mission. It means even if there is only 48 hours this guide will get it done

Lets hope a replay comes along at some not to distant time like they dod after the first few came out. My strong hand is all casted up making playing games now impossible. I don’t understand time gating content in games at all.
I had only gotten to phase two my myself and I gave up, but even with 5 days left this gives me the motivation to redo the expedition! Hopefully I can finish it in 3+ hrs. I might just send frigates out on expeditions and cancel so I can get the milestone done without doing it. I’ll update if I was able to finish it (if I remember)
Update: I DID IT!! I was able to finish it in about three hours, thank you so much for this guide! It would’ve taken me days to finish this expedition without it. This is my first expedition, since I got the game a month ago. I’m hoping next expedition, I’ll be able to use one of your guides again!
My first attempt at an expedition and Ive thoroughly enjoyed it, thanks for all your hard work on this. The only bit Im unsure about is the deep sleep part, didnt understand the reference to “use the homebeacon” however, Im sure it will make sense in due course.

Thank you very much for sharing this guide. Started about a month ago and I didn’t know what it meant at the start screen by “polestar expedition”. I was able to find this video and get it knocked out in about 9 hours (of gameplay. Took 3-4 days due to irl responsibilities & waiting for the last frigate mission). Then I got a friend to help transfer the items I wanted to keep to my main save before deleting it. 16 frigate modules and those upgrades were a Godsend.

Is this guide still good for the polestar expedition running now? Most seems the same but the systems are different
Update: Redux Guide is still underway but almost complete, It will be released as early as possible.
To be clear, this current guide is not super useable with the redux, due to them being in different areas of space.
I dread to think how long this would have taken me if I did it all on my own – some real timesavers in here.
