  1. Back around 2009 I did some Agency work for DFS, as a driver's mate🤩
I must say I am not surprised that they were on the ball, the management always emphasized the Customer was King, and be polite. They always try to deliver a good product.

Not everything in life goes according to plan, but hey Dan, look on the bright side, you have a free whoopee cushion 🤣🤣🤣😂

  2. As someone who's worked in consumer credit, I'd say it's worth mentioning that if you did get to the complaint stage, it would potentially be within the remit of the financial ombudsman service (as I'm sure you're aware, but most of the general public wouldn't be). The great thing is that they work to the FCA principles, including TCF (treating customer's fairly) rather than just the letter of the law. For example, where damage was wear and tear, they would look at whether a customer could reasonably expect the item to last more than 3 years and may still rule in the customer's favour.

  3. Daniel, I’m not a Lawyer but I do know this. Never, I repeat never spend your hard earned cash at DFS and I say this with some experience. The last time was 2015, found somewhere better and I have superior quality furniture surrounding my life. Thank you for your content 🕊

  4. I’ve a question: I originally purchased a suite from Sofology on 0% finance. An insurance claim due to pet damage – claimed under the sofology policy taken out at point of purchase.

Now, my Sofa is just a year old and is starting to sag. Is there any cover implied or extended by my initial credit agreement? Or, is there cover if needed as the damage insurance is itself a financial product?

Would love it if BlackBelt Barrister sees this question, however unlikely. It might be useful for us to know?

  5. If my chairs made that noise my grand kids would spend hours making the foot rest move in and out. 😂 On a more serious note: Buying something on credit mean that the product is covered against defects (basically under warranty) for at least the duration of the credit agreement, even if it extends beyond the 6 year limit?
