Do You Know What are Terracotta Warriors?
The Terra Cotta Warriors, also known as Terracotta Army, a remarkable archaeological discovery near Xi’an, China, were accidentally found by farmers in 1974 while digging a well. Created to accompany China’s first Emperor, Qin Shi Huang, in the afterlife. The army consists of over 8,000 life-sized clay soldiers, horses, and chariots, each meticulously crafted with unique details. Constructed using a combination of molds and handcrafting, the warriors were originally painted in vibrant colors. Found in three pits, the largest containing more than 6,000 figures in a battle formation, they provide insights into the military and artistic achievements of the Qin Dynasty. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, attracting millions of visitors to the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. The tomb of Qin Shi Huang, located nearby and unopened, remains a subject of archaeological caution and curiosity.
