#VOLTINU ⚡️⚡️⚡️🌸🏄🏽♂️
Wow, what humans have to do now to keep unwanted critters from eating our food. I remember Granddad shooting and eating the critters that got in his garden. It was a whole lot cheaper, than having to pay for metal fencing.
nope. Chicken wire cages dug under and chewed through. Multilayer with chicken wire house window screens also chewed through. Squirrels smorgasboard in the cupboards in the kitchen. They squeeze into the car garage and chew wiring in cars. No repellents work. so far trapped out 42 squirrels but it doesn't matter- everything stripped. I was told Fish Emulsion Fertilizer sprayed topically works as a repellent. As it is, I treat the neighborhood foxes to keep them close by= they are the only natural predators of rodents. So far they've left me 8 snack tails.
In South Florida, iguanas pose a serious problem. I recently produced a video on keeping them out of the garden and featured the RFVC of Broward cages. Additionally, John Kohler has featured the Urban Farming Institute in the past, which offers an effective solution to deter these pesky reptiles.
John, you've inspired me to start my own YT channel, and I'm only a mile away from UFI, and I would love to meet you if you plan to go there, assuming you're still in the area.
hey John , good to see you, i`ve been using beds with frames and fine netting this year, its going well, gotta keep those slugs out
Love those grow cages I need some like that with screen to keep the bugs out
Nice
Great video John…you gave me ideas for my raised beds & some spinach to check out!
I use an electric fence system to keep raccoons out of my outdoor hydroponic systems.

I hate to admit this 🤔 I need to build these for protection, as this year is one of my best harvest/growing. I am finding my veggies eaten and at the other end of my yard! 😡 I live in 🏜️ and neighbors just look at me and ask how do you do this in 117 degrees! 🤣 Obviously the cridders are enjoying it too much! 👍
Just resubscribed. "Grow Your Greens" helped my understanding of composting a few years back, thanks, John. Safe travels.
I've a chicken problem w the garden
I made that exact pvc design cover for my raised beds…the rats chewed through the wood planter!!!!!!! It is a must to line the planter with hardware cloth as well
Thanks for the video, John. This is what I’m trying to do with my 12 acres. I put in swells of planning food Forest and given the food away out of the garden. I just don’t know how to put it all together i’ve asked people for help to run a nonprofit and get nowhere. Thanks for the video
would that frame keep out slugs?
Great show!! As always 🔥🔥🔥
Bro you’re in Broward?!? How can I borrow you for a day 😂😂😂
Can I use the abundant supply of pine cones for seed teas, top dress anything ? To improve my plants as this resource is free to this financially hampered old dude that wants to improve container grown food and medicine and fruit , blueberries and peach tree ?
Without altering PH negatively! Bring a bag of citronella with you down there !!!!!The mosquito’s will lift you up and carry you back up north !
You should’ve asked them if they had any citronella growing, rub it on, and the mosquitoes would left you alone ! 🤣
I itched just watching you, you have taught me so much, made that WONDERFUL craft blend available to me, so I wanted to give you that tip, the only one this old man can afford🤣
Yea John!
This was a great episode. Thanks for showing us a way to protect our food plants
