DJI Osmo Pocket 3: 4K VS 1080p

Testing both 1080p and 2.7k on the DJI Pocket 3, how good is it compared to a 4K vlog? Do you even need 4k for vlogging? Let’s see..

  1. Just watched this on a 55" OLED. I'd say 1080p is surprisingly good here. Quality stands comparable between resolutions and that is quite unusual nowadays. Good to see. For sure, upscaling it to 4k to take advantage of higher bitrate is probably the smartest thing to do if you want to avoid youtube compression and preserve maximum quality after uploading. Would love to see how the noise reduction behaves in the higher ISO values, especially while maintaining that DLOG M profile with the (obligatory) -2 sharpness. Can't wait for mine to arrive to test this and everything else myself! In the meanwhile thank you for sharing this comparison and cheers from Argentina!

  2. I also made some videos on this product but I can't wait to try it, I'm just undecided whether to get the creative combo or get the normal version and place it alongside either the DJI Mic 1 or wait for the MiC2… However, it makes me incredibly strange see a Vlog in English from Scauri 🔝🔝🔝

  3. Remember once and for all! 4K is needed ONLY for large images. Based on the characteristics of human vision, 1080P provides acceptable quality at 32 degrees FOV. And this is only a 1/6 of a person’s visual field of vision!

4K provides high-quality images already at 64 degrees, which is already a 1/3 of the FOV of people.

And the size of the perceived screen increases for greater immersion in the atmosphere of what is displayed, the effect of presence.

Not knowing such an elemental thing makes you look very stupid!

Don't make videos like this ever again!

Moreover, you deliberately provided material in which it is difficult to see the difference.

And continuing the theme, 8K provides quality images for 128 degrees or 2/3 of people's field of view.
But it is extremely difficult to get a screen with 128 degrees FOV, so 8K will be unpopular for a long time.

And for the same reason that even 64 is difficult (either a large screen or close to it), people do not understand why 4K is needed.

Added to this are such absolutely illiterate videos.

  4. Great comparison. I recently picked one up and have only shot in 4K. But now I’m thinking it might be worth going down to a lower resolution. It would make the file transfers to my phone much smaller.

  5. Nobody is testing the zoom though, be it 2x in 4K or 4x in 1080 or whatever it gets in 2,7k.
I would like to see if this thing can be used for general b-rolls in different angles other then just 20mm
