Today is launch today for the all new DJI M350 RTK. It has been a few years since DJI’s flagship model, the M300, was released and that drone has proved to be the workhorse it was advertised as and still continues to be an excellent drone.

Now, with the M350 being announced today, I would assume all of you with M300’s are wanting to upgrade, but you’re concerned about your current gear and payloads. We will get to why you should not worry in just a few minutes.

Let’s dive into the specs on the DJI M350.

At first glance, the M350 does not look all that different from the M300 and there is a good reason for that. DJI upgraded the onboard FPV camera to a 1080P camera with enhanced night vision to give you better situational awareness in any lighting conditions.

They also increased the IP rating from IP54 to IP55. This will help with additional dust and water intrusion prevention and allow you to fly in practically any environment.

We are looking at a 55 minute flight time with 2 on board TB65 batteries, but keep in mind that the time estimate is perfect world conditions and your payload and on board weight may vary that time back and forth a bit.
The new o3 transmission system and the DJI RC Plus remote has a potential range of 20 kilometers. Obviously that is quite the distance so make sure you are following all FAA guidelines for drone flight and line of sight rules.

The M350 has 6 directional sensors on it to help with obstacle avoidance and it also has millimeter wave radar on it for low light obstacle avoidance. If you are doing inspections with potential obstacles above you, you may want to pair it with the CSM radar to help mitigate that risk.
Now for the good news about backwards compatibility. The M350 is compatible with the following payloads: H20N, H20T, H20, P1 full frame camera, L1 Lidar System, CSM Radar, and both the top mount and dual mount gimbals that DJI produced for the M300.

If you have a fleet of batteries for your M300, guess what, they will work on the M350. The one thing that DJI mentioned is that you must run the same battery on the drone at the same time. For instance, don’t mix a TB60 and TB65. Run both of the same kind of battery for each flight. Side note, the TB65 batteries will also work on an M300, you just have to do a firmware update on the aircraft before that is able to work.

For those of you who operate with RTK precision, the D-RTK2 is fully compatible with the M350.

DJI made this a very easy upgrade for those of you already on this amazing enterprise platform with the M300. We are excited to get this drone in and do our testing and get it into your hands. As soon as we know estimated shipping dates, we will get that information out via email, our website, and here on our youtube channel.
