Its kinda weird when content creators name like 25 "game of the year!!!???" Videos. And im absolutely biased in thinking zvt is the most entertaining matchup. That game 1 was hands down in the top 5 contenders for game of the year. Just awesome to watch
In game 1:
1. Feels like Battlecruisers for Buyn would have been great.
2. Buyn should have landed the vikings vs the stalkers to get some dmg in instead of losing all units for nothing. Same thing for the 3 liberators vs 3 carriers, he might have got one down if he has just pivoted.

Mechtoss is an interesting style. I enjoy watching it. Even more I liked Hero's bet that he could replace his units faster than Byun could. That's a play I'd never have thought to try.

Why the heck is BuyN allergic to battlecruisers? You play Terran, fusion core, and yet don't go BC? That's like being the U.S. Navy and not making boats. I love ByuN and all, but he needs to up his strat, it ain't 2016 anymore.
wow finally a protoss who uses the defensive structure kinda decent π
meaning actually bulding Protoss super powerfull static defence.
did you see that ONE fight where P just forced T to engage into static? yer that was a x8 times resources lost for T at 3,5k vs. roughly 400 resource.
Protoss should never fight a losing fight without batteries; he also got his bottom defence depowered because 1 pylon to rule them all (while sitting at 3k+ minerals).
he also didn't put up frontal bases off nexus+ lots of static to fall back at, any fight there would be really cost efficient.
if you hover more than 2k minerals it's time to throw down pylon+shieldbat+photon where-ever it would be nice to have a recharge station or add more to the defensives;
as example his bases was so open for harass from air/lib, instead use the 600 mineral on each base to set up photons to hit them, also to prevent unsupported ghost, or low supported ghost from nuking more than 400 minerals worth of defensives at most! but like 250, as pylon+photon just to scout. if it dies its still lot cheaper than any other observer that just dies takes up supply and does a worse job at buying time. cant remember when an observer wasn't sniped within two terran passbys in a top match π
later you can reinforce these and spread the defence, but also have a photon ahead enough to prevent nukes and libs.
recall should ONLY be used to move your units away from danger, never too it.
it is so when they push a base you can fully exhauts all shield battery energi, overcharge, fight untill 5 photons are dead, then pull back and safely recall away if your army is too slow.
or when they base trade you, you base trade back, bc of your defensives it will take them a lot more time and effort to get to anything meaningfull.
recalling units back to a defensive spot is legit, like 5shieldbat+4photons+nexus defensive outpost is attacked by something big enough to break it, recall army and get super good value ontop of it. while kiting back.
tempest and carriers should never be NOT behind photons+shieldbatteries; unless 100% sure they are safe.
why would they push further forward than their defensive structures?
you want to push, start creeping your pylons+shieldbats as close as possible and then fight from just behind photons and shields, with support army etc. super good trades even if you have to fall back.
and again recall would be good to fall back before you lose a lot.
units should never be on low shield, go recharge at a shieldbat.
1-3 archons on a base with high battery+photon makes their gain/loss incredible; everyone should know how much an archon can tank with an overcharged shieldbat on him (or overcharge shieldbat on nexus while it tanks is also incredibly stuff to kill.)
the use of all units are as good as it gets. now its time to support them with enough defensive buildings that your micro doesn't get stretched more than you are comfortable using all the tricks protoss need to use to win.
he did such an amazing job vs. siege tank and lib; they only broke the first base because he didnt set photons on the edges, only one direction etc.
but as a first attempt on doing this it was awesome π
its a lot of what i've been harping over for a long time now,; its awesome to see a pro finally do some of it and do it so efficiently π
also in g1 several times the static defense of less than 1k on a base pushed back 35+ supply ghost, marauder, marines, medivac (a strong harass force normally); and it did no dmg to the first base and 200-300 mineral to the second and lost more than that on it;
thats a huge win, 35+ supply not with the main force, which are also dying themselves, to supplyless mineral only "units=structures";
why not built them in droves?
EVERY time you throw away a zealot without it doing dmg that's another shield battery.
here died at least what 40+? zealot (which is very low for a long pvt); that's 20 shieldbats more with personal pylons and a few photons; can you imagine these pushes with such shield regen closeby?
yer built them, if you use a prism you can set all the buildings building in the same time (so both shieldbats,photons and pylons finishes at roughly the same time; its an extremely quick way to get 4bat,+2photons,+4pylons up as a defensive point to retreat too and ofc unless you are vastly out chased it will earn itself back and if you are it will buy time and trade well at least which is still the best option ^^
sooo much hope hero will carry to torch and proof to all these people that PROTOSS ARE THE RACE OF LEGENDS π and powerfull defensive creeps ;P

This strategy is as old as time itself. I wonder why you would call it "new Protoss strategy". Already in SC1 playing against AI the common strategy was:
1. Build a cannon
2. Go on with 1.
Ghosts should have stim, but it only reduces health.
