‘Dispose of a Body’: Gabby Petito Case Heats Up as Disturbing Letter from Killer’s Mom Surfaces

The family of Gabby Petito appeared in court Wednesday to urge the judge overseeing their civil case against Brian Laundrie’s family to release the “burn after reading” letter penned by the killer’s mom, Roberta Laundrie. “If you need to dispose of a body, I will show up with a shovel and garbage bags,” the disturbing letter read. The Law&Crime Network’s Sierra Gillespie breaks it down and reads the letter from start to finish.

  1. I have a son, too. If I wrote him a letter of support I would certainly say I'd always be there for him, through thick and thin. I'd never in my wildest dreams say I'd help him bury a body or buy a shovel. WTF, that is NOT normal!

  2. Honestly parents do this when they want their child to confess,To hear that your loved one won’t stop loving you after you confess to something bad helps them break – but here I don’t see this woman doing that , also this sounds rather inappropriate to write to your son ? It sounded liked a twisted love letter 🤢 if i was her lawyer I’d say she was trying to get him to confess Because she had a reason to believe something bad happened to the gal , that would play out so much better than this line of defence they adopted

  3. When I see that picture of Gabby, it breaks my heart. The police should’ve insisted that she stayed with them and none of this would’ve happened on that day anyway. So so sad.

  5. If this letter was found in his backpack after they found his remains , wouldnt that prove that his mom wrote him this letter after he commited the crime??? Who carries around a letter like that for months on a road trip??

  6. what is most disturbing is.. how she put on the fakest show for her IG or taktok viewers, while she was getting beaten up and her bf wanted to kill her. imagine ur relationship is so bad you both end up dead because of eachother😢

  7. So sad, such a beautiful gentle soul Gabbie seems and it’s so disturbing seeing this video when she’s speaking to police😡they should have arrested the monster and poor Gabby would still be here😞

  8. Brian clearly had issues that stemmed from his maternal bond or lack thereof. It explains his domestic violence and physical harm toward his girlfriend. But most indicting is the specifics mentioned by his mother in her attempt to express her love for her son. Bury a body, bake a cake in jail…and using Biblical scripture as well shows narcissism at work. Good luck Roberta. Love is really a verb and not a noun. It's your actions that will lead to your conviction.

  9. they need to stop there are no winners here they both lost a son and a daughter and the whole thing is heart breaking. Nothing will bring them back the pic of Gabby crying is heart breaking

  10. That video of her in the tent is clearly after she’s done crying. She “dated down”, meaning she could’ve easily dated a much much better ‘man’ (I use that term loosely with this coward). It’s sad when young women like Gabby don’t realize their worth, their beauty (inside and out) & that a pathetic little twerp like this coward only holds them back from reaching their potential.

  11. The Laundries are persona non-grata. They probably have to watch their backs every where they go. I find it ironic and ceepy that this smiling boyfriend would ultimately be her undoing, and strangle her to to death. What did she do to deserve this? It reminds me of an old some call Smiling Faces.
"Smiling faces sometimes pretend to be your friend

Smiling faces show no traces of the evil that lurks within"
Interestingly, Brian Laundries mother quoted a verse from Roman. But I quote another verse about Brian: "It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea"
The letter seems to indicate they Brian's mother was willing to overlook all manner of evil in her son, which makes her pretty bad.

  12. The way they twist the meaning of a love letter from mother to son is enraging. They are insisting on blaming these parents for the son's doings. Most parents of murderers are not murderers, nor teach their children to murder. It is really sad to see so many people supporting such actions. Lawyers do these things because the law allows them to soil their names publicly. The fact that these actions are legal does not mean they are moral. For lawyers, the most important parts are 1- to count court victories for their careers (and maybe to aspire to politics) and 2 financial gain. This is for money. Gaby's parents believe they are entitled to this financial suit against those other parents who also lost a child. But the funniest or the worst irony of it all, is to watch those cops with Gaby, not helping her, when it was evident that she needed help desperately. They should sue the police. If there were well trained policemen in the force, they would've sensed that something was wrong. And maybe she would still be alive. SUE THOSE POLICEMEN, not the parents.
