  1. Well Disneyland drive will have to at least dip under the bridges. And a lot of modern Disney parks are actually built on floor #2 as WDW has utilidors and as you said Downtown Disney has an underground. Maybe they’ll take that street and sink it with a cap/bridge over most of it. You could still get to the hotels and all places that way and the cap/bridges could be so wide that they feel like continuous park. I’m hopeful they just don’t go el cheapo with it.

  2. Enjoying watching along, AS ALWAYS; Maybe they could, and would need, to save a lot of space by having trams move forward south from the ‘parking plaza’ towards the hotels, rather than looping north. Rebuilding the road again is likely enough anyway.

  3. 0:29 – Mission accomplished. I didn’t hear any bothersome BG noise. Just another example of Brickey’s unmatched dedication and technical expertise. Same goes for filming in between red lights. Love the series! Thank you.

  4. Sinking Disneyland Drive in two more places to build ground level bridges would be crazy expensive and extremely disruptive to resort traffic. They're going to have to get very creative to make elevated bridges fit seamlessly into the park expansions.

  5. Please indulge me Brickey. What if… Disney lowered the entirety of Disneyland Way, part below grade and part tunnel. Imagine if you could have some bridges, but also wider areas that could take over all of Disneyland Way at grade and have more room for the parks. Just a radical idea, but that’s what imagineers do!

  6. Nice job Brickey! I miss the walking path too. I'm thinking tunnels could be doable. If they have to tear up the road to make it "dip" below the new bridges… why not just make tunnels that dip below the road and any infrastructure that goes with it. Either way, they'll need to close one end of the road during the construction so I say dig, dig, dig.

  7. One thing to keep in mind is that they have a finite amount of land they can build on. So they might be willing to do otherwise ridiculous things to squeeze in every usable square foot they can. Maybe that means completely covering Disneyland Drive with a canopy of buildings on stilts and land bridges, effectively making it an underground street.

  8. Critter Country bridge to parking lot for Disneyland forward is a long bridge… I’d like to see a video on how they could make it big enough to still feel like your in Disneyland with theme elements rather than just a long bridge

  9. I know people hate when things are removed. But I would love to see Disney become more effective rather than bigger. Or rather than just bigger. If Disney can survive the people who get upset about splash mountain they can absolutely handle better use foe autopia and the subs. As well as back lot and even the far end of the pier. So much wasted space that could be used and have queues filled with people rather than just adding 7 miles to a Disney days walking by adding more park to walk by on the way to attractions.

  10. If the bridges form a tunnel for Disneyland Drive will there be some cool dioramas like the Disneyland RxR ? Fun series looking into DL Forward, keep up the good work.

  11. LOL. What was the point of all that voting and tax money towards City Council? 😂 Way to waste Anaheim's resources on a pretty much useless expansion. Disney Co continues to make decisions that baffle me.

  12. I recall when DL Drive was West St & there were a few worn-out motels along it from Katella northward. Properties on Harbor Blvd & Katella Ave weren't much better. Wires on poles lined most of the streets around DL, beyond the steel high-tension Edison lines that are regrettably still there. Landscaping was flimsy to non-existent. All true only a little more than 20 years ago too. If Brickey were around back then, he'd have thrown his hands up in apathy & turned his attention elsewhere. lol

  13. with this being a 30 year project Disney has a plan for how they are going to make it work. With them deciding to use the parking lots as park space it would mean that access to downtown Disney and the hotels will change. For my guess I think they will phase out the trams and replace them with a new people mover system to go over the road rather than under it. It would be more efficient moving guests and open up more land for expansion a separate people mover would take guests to the hotels with a station right next to the monorail station. As for deliveries into downtown Disney an underground access way is not out of the realm of possibility with its entry point being inside the parking structure though a separate road. This is how I would do it to maximize security efficiency and the most land to build on

  14. IMHO they have no reason to expand Disneyland. It has no problem selling park tickets. They could potentially move backstage buildings over there and expand Disneyland past Toontown if they needed to. Critter Country wouldn't be able to handle the flow of guests as the only access point, and a large amount of guests getting out of Critter Country at night might be difficult when Fantasmic is clogging up the riverfront between Mansion and Big Thunder. There's not enough room for an entire third theme park, but if they could put in something that sells a third ticket, that might increase ticket revenue and hotel revenue. Picture something like Starcruiser, without the hotel component (making it much more affordable). A paid 6-hour "immersive experience" on Pandora, or something.

  15. Yes, the tunnel solution is acceptable from my urban planning background. The end of the tunnel can slightly start to rise at grade level of valet service area. The question is cost, and code Disney is willing to invest.

  17. If/When DL connects Critter Country with a bridge across DL Drive, WILL Disney provide an exit or even an entrance to DL to make a more convenient access for guests who Park at the Mickey/Pixar Parking and DL Hotel guests????

  18. They could make it a ride that takes you to expansion. I wish we could board Star Tours and somehow the exit would dump you into Galaxy's Edge. Maybe a people mover that takes you to new land through a bridge cloaked as tunnel.

Thanks for all you do! Keep up the great work!! Hope to see you in the park when were are there at the end of August!

  21. what makes that downtown disney crossing of Disneyland Dr so hidden (in addition to the landscaping), is it's a flat grade. You don't ascend, then descend when you go over the bridge. Can they pull that off with a new crossing further north? In my memory for both Anaheim and Florida, there are not many (or any) significant grade climbs or drops a guest has to make once in the parks, so maybe that a design feature they try to accomplish. So how do you pull off this new crossing without having the guest go up and over a obvious bridge?? To do this you certainly would have to significantly lower the profile of Disneyland Dr and the parking tram route at the new crossing.
