Whispering has the BEST cornbread ever! I would go to Disney just for that! Just saying….:)
I’m so excited for my next trip!!! It’s going to be in September! I have chronic fatigue so me doing rope drop in whatever park I’m staying at until about lunch or later is perfect. It allows me to go grab a nap in the early afternoon and then wake up and go 3-4ish to about 10! I think I’m going to try to snag a reservation for a lunch or dinner at one of the resorts this time to experience that! Any recommendations?
Seeing Native American silhouettes on the chairs here feels very disrespectful. Do better, Disney.
We discovered Whispering Canyon Cafe during our 2007 WDW vacation, we now make a point to schedule at least one meal there. The atmosphere is fun and the food is great, just make sure to ask your server for some ketchup.
The alien restaurant in Tomorrowland is also on this list lmao, that alien keyboardist animatronic is unbelievably annoying
Those chairs are really unfortunate…
One of my favorites
I have not been there, but personally I, am not at all a fan of these types “mean teasing server type restaurants.” Good for you if enjoy them, glad they exist for those that enjoy them, I just want to eat my meal in peace. I had multiple horrible experiences at 50’s Prime Time as a kid (I was shy, nerdy, and a picky eater) and I have never fully recovered. Yes I am being cheeky, it saying it should not exists, more power too it, I am just not going to go.
Rude doesn’t equal funny. With prices (though out the vacation) being noticibly higher (let alone adult prices for 10yr old kids) people might want good service
We went 2/13/22 and had “sweet and sour” as our server for dinner and she was hilarious. We enjoyed our food and the cornbread so much and the atmosphere and service was great!!
My group of friends and I just went to this restaurant for breakfast a couple days ago! It was so fun! The second our server found out we were almost all Cast Members the shenanigans got WILD! 😂 It was awesome!
Hey and btw 50s prime time is bad. The food was bad last time and the time before.
My opinion
What one calls obnoxious, I call humor, entertainment, good food, and good service.
What is that soup looking nut filled cauldron thing right after the dynamite stick cinnamon rolls?
They need to go back to the way it used to be, same with 50s prime time!
If someone doesn't like that kind of fun or interaction, then there's plenty of other places they can go to eat!
Clearly they weren't hurting for business though because these two places always had plenty of it!
Whispering Canyon Cafe – FAIL
We loved the Wilderness Lodge and may return for a stay, however, the food at the Whispering Canyon Cafe was a huge fail. We ordered the Carnivore that was $26.00 per person and included House-made Cornbread with Honey Butter, Maple-Chipotle Barbecued Slow-smoked Pork Ribs, Oak-smoked Beef Brisket, Barbecued Pulled Pork, Citrus-Herb Chicken, Country Potatoes, Buttered Corn, Charred Carrots.
The Cornbread with Honey Butter was good but we could not taste any honey in the butter. The Maple-Chipotle Barbecued Slow-smoked Pork Ribs was like eating burnt charcoaled jerky. The Oak-smoked Beef Brisket and the Barbecued Pulled Pork was very dry and lacked taste. The Citrus-Herb Chicken was the only thing that we really enjoyed. The Country Potatoes were not what I would consider Country Potatoes and they were very dry. The Buttered Corn was ok and the Charred Carrots were undercooked and not very tasty. I must say the Barbecue Sauce that comes on the side was delicious.
We have enjoyed many restaurants on Disney World property and I would say this one is one of the very worst. We so wanted a good experience and thought we would have one, sadly we did not. Our family would recommend Boma, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Tusker House as alternatives.
WE NEED KETCHUP!!!!
This restaurant has been known to always be rowdy when a table is having a birthday being celebrated, but I’m sure the birthday recipient(s) might appreciate the noise if they feel like they deserve pride.
While the restaurants at Grand Floridian were the quietest that I visited in Disney World in 2014 and 2016, the Whispering Canyon Cafe however was the loudest restaurant I visited (but although was just there once in 2014).
