  1. I'm proud to be born and raised in Dixie. My grandmother's hands bled working in the cotton fields and I'm proud of the work ethic she gave me. I'm proud european frying techniques integrated with African influences to bring fried Okra into this world. Not everyone in the south was slave holder or slave. I've spent nights away dreaming I was back home in Dixie weather, Georgia, Tennessee, or Alabama.

  2. Stayed here with our 4 kids 20 years ago…they all fit. One slept on the bench between the wall and armoire and 1 in trundle bed! Still my favourite resort but now out of my price range so we stay at Pop Century.

  3. Morty and Ferdy!! <3 Such a pretty resort. Yay Tiana!
EDITED to add: I thought Snow White's prince was named Florian? Not sure where I got that idea. Does anyone know what Cinderella's prince's name was?

  4. Staying at Riverside for the first time in a couple of months, and I am excited to try it. A big reason for trying this resort out for me is that it is dog friendly. Last year I stayed at a cabin in Fort Wilderness, as those are also dog friendly; I loved it there, so did the doggo, but it was also quite pricey, so trying something a step down this year. But even still I am super excited because I enjoy going to the Springs and love me some Scat Cats and Beignyas’s. I will also comment that my wife has a gluten and dairy allergy so finding good food that is themed well can be more difficult for her; she/was have found that the allergy menu/food at Boatwrights is some of the best she has had. Thank you for a great video!! I’m def. going to book a carriage ride!!

  5. thanks team – checking into Riverside in a couple of days. excited to to see the picturesque grounds. I grew up in Cajun country, so i’ll probably pass on food options. but will definitely take the walk for beignets which are top notch. And lastly, i’m a blue plate girl but have heard good things about Duke’s. 🖤💚

  6. My wife took our daughter and her two daughters to Disney a while ago and stayed at Riverside. My wife's only complaint was that the resort is so large. Two years later the two of us went and stayed at French Quarter. We loved it! French Quarter is now our preferred resort.

  7. Dukes mayo is good but it’s hard to find in Southern California. Ralph’s market (part of Kroger) did have it for a short time and I bought it. I guess it didn’t sell well because they marked it down a couple weeks later (I got another jar). But…. I have to say I still think Best Foods (aka “Hellmans”) is a bit better if you like a richer mayo as they add extra egg yolks in the ingredients (that is the main difference between the two). Again, I liked Dukes but to me, not as special as everyone makes it out to be.

  8. 4:56 And the only time they appeared in the new Mickey Mouse cartoons was in the Halloween special. Mickey, Donald and Goofy take Huey, Dewey, Louie, Morty and Ferdy trick or treating and then Mickey tries telling them scary stories, two of which end up being based on Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” and Mel Brooks’ “Young Frankenstein”.

  9. Alan: This area is called Old Man Island.

Me to my husband: Alan and Molly went to Old Man Island and everyone there knew you.

    😂

EDIT: Coming back to say that “🎶I saw a button and I pressed it🎶” is so Travis Willingham-coded.

  10. Gonna be honest, Port Orleans Riverside is probably my least favorite resort on property. We even stayed in the princess room (the decor in there was magical, I'll give them that). Room was lacking in updates/amenities you would hope/expect at a hotel these days (no USB outlets anywhere, lack of electrical sockets generally). The resort was way too big/spread out (I don't understand how people will complain about Caribbean beach for that but not mention that for Riverside when I feel like it's worse). I just don't know why you would ever pick this resort over another. Want better transportation? Go to Caribbean Beach. Want better theming? Go to French Quarter. Want it to be cheaper? Go to a value. Want something fancier? Go to a deluxe. The ONLY thing it has over the other resorts is the princess rooms specifically, which like I mentioned, were lacking basic features you would expect from a hotel in 2024

  11. Hi there, I’m sorry if I missed it… But I would love if you added the cost of the stuff you’re getting in the restaurants and the drinks. Like price plus tip would be great information for planning purposes. Thank you so much! I love you guys and the resort stays
