Disney Wish! Inaugural Sailing, July 22, 2022- Embarkation Day, Part 2! Join us for an exciting adventure as we continue to explore the Disney Wish, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship to join the fleet!

We ventured to deck 2 to explore the Oceaneer’s Club and the It’s a Small World Nursery. So much care and imagination went into the youth spaces on the Wish. The first ever slide entrance to the Club is located on deck 3 Midship. We saw plenty of adults sliding their way into the fun! There are several sections within the Oceaneer’s Club. Star Wars Cargo Bay features creatures from a galaxy far away. During our sailing Rey and Chewbacca also made appearances here. Just down the hall is the Marvel Super Hero Academy. We met Black Panther here and there were appearances by Ant-Man and Spiderman in this space later on in the sailing. The theming is incredible! The Walt Disney Imagineering Lab is a large open space similar to the Oceaneer’s Lab on the Dream and Fantasy. Quite possibly the most adorable space on the entire ship is the Small World Nursery. The artwork is lovely and the ambiance is fun and playful for the littlest of cruisers. We found out that the Mickey & Minnie’s Captain’s Deck is a shared space that is sometimes used for those in the Oceaneer’s Club and at others for the Nursery. Fairytale Hall is the final section of the Club and this is a princess haven. Featuring Frozen, Tangled, and Beauty and the Beast, this space is perfect for reading and art. Our kids were able to go to the Club and Edge for youth activities on this sailing and they definitely enjoyed their Club time this cruise!

By the time we were done exploring deck 2, our room was ready. We did book a GTY verandah for this sailing and were assigned stateroom 6534. The room was beautiful! We had no idea we would have Frozen-themed art. The bedding was light and airy. The room itself was bright and modern. The spacing and layout are similar to the other ships but the decor feels elevated. We are huge fans of the split bathroom. There is a lack of drawer space in the room. Life jackets take up several of the shelves in the closet. We did leave many of our items in our suitcases beneath the bed which is not super convenient. That being said, we did have enough space for our family of four and we liked the room location.

After settling into our room we headed to deck 11. It is HOT on deck. Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods has an array of quick-service items we really would have liked to explore more. We heard great things about Donald’s Cantina. We did have cones from Sweet Minnie’s Ice Cream which is served by a Cast Member rather than self-serve. We love Inside Out so when we learned the Wish would be home to Joyful Sweets we knew a stop or two would make our must-do list. Sweets of all kinds can be found here along with none other than Joy herself (and all the gang, including Bing Bong)!

Marceline Market is on deck 11 and this bustling eatery is similar to Cabana’s. There are multiple buffet stations set up with a variety of foods for breakfast and lunch. Another noticeable change is the buffet offerings are no longer self-serve. We enjoyed the decor and the large windows with a view.

Set Sail on a Wish is the all-new sail away party and we were super excited to see the show. We found a spot up on deck 12 and enjoyed the music, characters, and dancing! This was a super fun sail away party, probably our favorite yet! We recommend taking this party in, it will really kickstart vacation!

We had late dining so we got to see Seas the Adventure, a brand new show for the Wish before mealtime. As we shared, this show was super fun and features some characters that we don’t see too often. We don’t want to give any spoilers away (though we leaked the Frozen 2 part, sorry!) but we gave the show two thumbs up and think it should not be missed!

Dinner for our first night was at Arendelle and we were anxiously anticipating what was sure to be an amazing meal and show. Unfortunately, we were seated away from the stage with a semi-obstructed view. The live music was beautiful. Anna and Kristoff, Elsa, Oaken, and Olaf all join on stage and they do circulate around the dining room. The atmosphere was fun and festive. Food was delicious! We tried a variety of offerings. The tops pics were the chicken dish as well as the meatballs with noodles. Dessert was a winner all around. We sampled some of the specialty non-alcoholic dessert drinks too. Next time we will try and request a table closer to the stage but overall we had an enjoyable time and a great meal!

We had a very fun and full day of activities for our first day on the Wish. It was so fun to explore the ship and see so many of the spaces. We can’t wait to share even more over the next few vlogs so be sure to stay tuned!

We certainly hope you enjoyed the vlog as we enjoyed sharing our day with you! Onward to our next adventure!

  1. They really knocked it out of the park with the oceaneers club on this ship! Such a cool space and our little guy had the best time there! He loved all the spaces! And the rooms were so beautiful and comfortable! We were very pleased! Fun to see the frozen room! We had a Cinderella room and haven’t seen a frozen room yet! And cool to see the gold and platinum gifts! We’re still newbies, just at silver, but working our way up! 😂 We got that same stateroom gift, loved that the blanket had all the characters on it! So cute, and so cozy! The festival of foods was really an awesome upgrade on the Wish! We really loved that they did Marceline marketplace to honor Walt’s childhood home! ❤️The new sail away party is so fun and we loved the Arendelle dinner show! Awesome first day/night guys! Really enjoyed getting to watch your adventures and hear your first impressions!
