If Disney loses this, they will not only lose the sweet deal they have been riding on for decades BUT they will have to spend TRILLIONS in taxes and upgrades to their parks just to bring them up to standard health and safety codes. Sounds like Disney is going to be contracting law firms very quickly.
Reedy Creek was supposed to be an entirely separate legal entity to Disney.
At the last second, Disney usurped the "development rights" from the new Florida development district, essentially tying themselves directly to Reedy Creek.
So either Disney and Reedy Creek WERE entirely separate entities, in which case they would have no standing (and they've totally screwed this pooch with their last minute development thingy). OR Disney was Reedy Creek all along and their agreement with the state was always invalid.
Seems like Disney is hosed either way here.

The thing is that Florida seemed happy with the arrangement they had with Disney until Disney took a public position on HB 1557. I think this issue is going to make the other points about Reedy Creek and Central Florida Oversight Committee moot because this is where Disney has the strongest argument and they're going to focus on this. DeSantis needs to somehow prove that he wasn't deliberately targeting Disney with the subsequent bills to take away Disney's rights to run their Special Independent District and he has publicly stated that was the case on multiple occasions.
I'm really hoping Legal Mindset is right about all of this. I got really hyped by Reiketa Law about the whole Vic trial. He ended up with an absolute chump of an attorney who seemed to spend more time on live chats than his clients case. He ended up botching his clients case so bad and had no hope of appeal. I got to hear the other side gloat non-stop after they were already insufferable through the whole thing.
There's an irony to all of this being about swampland. Disney arrogantly charged forward only to get caught in the legal muck and when they tried to brute force their way out they got so stuck they might well be sinking for real.
The reason why Democrats and friends go after women and children for support is because they are more marketable to, more naive, more gullible. That’s why we are in so much trouble because bad people give the foolish false hope.

Reedy creek was never really the idea Epcot was supposed to be the real city not a theme park as I’ve seen in videos especially the documentary walt did on Epcot which I believe it was known as the city of tomorrow. Andrew takes, Analysis and breakdown always spot on.

Disney got too complacent. They pissed off the govt. and now the govt is coming to make sure the reedy creek has their ducks in a row and its clear they dont because disney was pulling the strings illegally. So now disney is stuck between a hostile govt and a hard place. Disneys recourse is to claim they've been treated unfairly by the govt. However this claim requires reedy creek to be following the rules which they clearly werent. You cant complain the govt is enforcing its power unfairly because you painted a target on yourself and they found you breaking the law.
As a parent I really can’t wrap my head around people who oppose the parental rights in education bill. I DO NOT want ANYONE talking to my 6year old about sex between any of the 100 genders we have now. I see that as sexual harassment because the kids brain at this age does not understand it.

So in grossly oversimplified terms, Disney had this collection of human bones stashed in their closet for the past 60 years. And the whole dust-up between them and Ron DeSantis is what caused people to check for any skeletons in Disney’s closet.

Disney didn’t want sexuality in the class room. They only took a vague position saying that they supported their LGBT customers and employees and stand by them and also felt that the bill targeted the LGBT, whatever community and oppressed there rights.
Now, I actually agree with the bill that was passed and don’t think any sexual orientation should be discussed in a school cause that isn’t purpose of a school.
Disney has a large LGBT workforce and customer base, hence they were heavily pressured Disney to speak out by their employees and customers.
The real issue here isn’t special tax district, it is constitutional law protecting free speech. While Andrew may be a specialist on Special Tax Districts in Florida, he is over looking the constitutional law side of this.
DeSantis in his own words has stated all of this is punishment for Disney speaking out against him. That is a big no no under constitutional law.

disney set a trap for desantis and he took it. he's out here looking like a lunatic, spending heaps of florida tax payers money to try and look like a measured leader and it's failing. it's failing big time, and his team knows it. disney played their hand quite well. the outside council they brought in was a stroke of genius. i look forward to seeing how desantis handles the loss.
