The latest filings from Disney make it seem as though they’re going to spend boffo cash on Disney Parks investments. A close examination reveals the opposite. Today we’re looking at why that’s great news for cruise line enthusiasts, but terrible for park aficionados. And we’re breaking down how the media missed the big story but investors did not!

  1. Disney's biggest problem now is Iger's ego. Everyone now sees Disney is in trouble and something needs to be done. But Iger will never admit his decisions are the cause so nothing will get fixed.

  2. I've got a question… what's going on with OLC and Disney?
I ask this because Destination D23 didn't ever bring up Tokyo… and when the new scenes coming to Star Tours were announced, it wasn't mentioned as coming to Tokyo.

Did Disney give OLC an ultimatum which led to an impasse? "Either you get rid of Splash Mountain, or you're not getting any new or updated attractions anywhere on property."

  3. I got a cardstock laminated mailer for Run Disney events for their virtual races. I haven't done one of them since the Lion King races during the pandemic. I'd rather do all my local races in a year than one Run Disney race plus I keep seeing 25% off hotel commericals on cable television for WDW. They're desperate for their former fans to return, when we're all feeling apathetic and closed wallets to Disney in general. No money for the rat.

  4. Over the past 10 years Disney has spent $32.5B on JUST parks, resorts and cruises CapEx. Saying they plan to double the PARKS CapEx to $60B IS a doubling of what was spent over the past 10 years. Heck, over the past 20 years they spent $46.8B on PARKS CapEx. They also avg $2.9B per year on PARKS CapEx since covid, again, matches the statement of "we plan to spend double. In the past 20 years the most spent on PARKS CapEx in a single year was 2016 at $4.2B.

  5. Disney now owns 2 theme parks in a Communist country that is in worse political position than 4 years ago. China reverted back to its Cultural Revolution roots. Disney will lose its investment if it doesn’t divest soon.

  7. Re the cruise lines: FIRST, you have to remember that taking a 3-5 day cruise from Florida in some cases CANNIBALIZES theme park attendance and hotels. There are even pixiedust channels who have, in the last couple of years suggested that the cruises (which, let's remember, are MUCH higher in price than comparable trips on other brands) with their all-inclusive dining, experiences, shore stuff on their private island(s) etc. etc. are a much better VALUE for money for a family than a comparable stay at the parks. SECOND, you have to ask whether the market is there for that many ships and cruises–how many 4-day Bahama trips are worth the game–and does this mean they plan to put some of these ships permanently in the Pacific a-la the new one they bought half finished, which is supposed to base in S.E. Asia, and that means it and others would be dependent on THEIR economies (and all demographic info worth knowing says the China parks are heading for a loss due to the huge decline in ChiCom economics and wow, I could go on all day with that.) NEXT, if as I expect Universal succeeds with the week-long-vacation process with the opening of Epic Universe and expansions of their existing parks, not to mention their two regional projects in Vegas and Plano, where does the revenue from existing properties come from to do this expansion? All of this with movies losing money on huge budgets–no sea-change in that seen or announced re. the huge megaflops–and Dplus continued losses, and you can only sell ABC or ESPN ONCE!

  8. I don’t see how Disney can afford to commit 60b when they appear to be bleeding cash. The military trains you that to save a patient you have to fist stop the bleeding. Then check the breathing. Then you start working on the most obvious wounds. This is no different.

  9. You've said it before, Go Woke, Go Broke.
The non propaganda part of Disney, the warm multi-generational part,
is being torn down and replaced with stuff that lacks inspiration or
understanding of what we really want.

  10. Growing up going to Disneyland, the park didn't constantly have walls up because of redoing or building something new every time you turned around. Money was spent on quality, cleanliness, and upkeep. And we were happy just to go. Those good old days are gone.

  11. I hate to say it pro but i have to unsubscribe. you make me so depressed that I can no longer follow your channel. i know you speak the truth most of the time about what is going on in Disney and i also know you hate those in the company like Faloni who are trapped in the corporate hell that is the company, but the bottom line is your channel has caused so much depression that i can no longer follow. You are right and i give up. the fight was lost long ago when no one was talking about this. I am talking about way before your channel or renegades even started. the truth is you are making things feel so hopeless that i give up and no longer want to care about what is happening. i am sorry to say it but damn you have made me give up on all the things I loved in my childhood. What a horrible world we now live in. I can not escape it no matter where i go. Best of luck to you and your channel but if i continue to listen i will likely jump off some bridge. you have made it clear that there really is no hope for the entertainment industry and it is better for my mental health to give up hope and stop paying attention to what is going on in the world of entertainment. I give up! You are right! There is no hope at all for a good future when it comes to SW, Marvel or anything else related to Disney. All hope is gone, you win.

  12. I would not want to spend 3 days at a theme park, maybe a few people would but I doubt very many of those people could afford it. There goes another idea that Disney will screw up. It sounds like the Star Cruiser all over again. I wonder what the level of satisfaction between a theme park visit and a Disney cruise versus the cost equal out to. I remember one of the earlier videos that I watched concerning anything Disney was a lady talking about her and her daughter going on a Disney cruise, and her level of satisfaction overall with their experience (I can't remember the channel, sorry.)🌠🛳️💵💵💵

  13. How do they even get their hands on 60 billion when they have to sell off their media stations in bits & pieces just to raise a mere 10 billion? Sounds like someone is being taken for a ride, and I'm not referring to Splash Mountain.

  14. At the 5:50-mark, WDWPro is being unreasonable and unfair. When Disney presented the rough Blue Sky ideas for Beyond Big Thunder, it included Coco/Encanto/Villains…but they never said this was carved in stone plans. It was an idea. And that idea involved for Encanto to go to Animal Kingdom instead, leaving Coco and Villains to likely take the Beyond Big Thunder space. WDWPro, please don’t be dishonest with viewers. It’s okay for Disney to rethink an idea and go in a different direction without your unfair criticism. Be better.

  16. We went to Universal on a spur of the moment, get me the hell out of here, COVID restrictions lifting trip early 2021. My son had brought up Disney because of a commercial but also really likes Harry Potter. Universal was a 1/3 of the cost and the kids had so much fun we walked away with annual passes. We move been back 5x and have one more weekend planned for Dec. we can already spend a week enjoying their 2 parks (not a fan of water parks, we tried it once and got fried lol), I can only imagine how much the kids will like Epic. Sorry Disney, can’t justify the cost of visiting your parks for what you get out of it. Genie+ looks horrible and I don’t have the mental space to learn it at this time. I just want to go with the flow not schedule every minute of my day months out.

  17. Disney hasn’t paid a dividend since December 2019. As a shareholder, I’d prefer to hear that they will resume paying a dividend. The share price continues to decline, park attendance is down, and the their film and tv offerings are agenda driven, not entertainment driven. In my mind, Disney is a company in clear decline across the board and a $60B investment is throwing good money after bad at this point.
