  2. I love this stuff! Back in my college days a colleague of mine discovered a previously unknown set of multiple dinosaur tracks (possibly suggesting gregarious behavior) in the Valley of Fire NV. We photogramrtrically 3-D mapped them to the sub-millimeter scale such that we could measure the stride & depth of the prints & thereby calculate the weight, height & velocity of the animals as they travelled. I feel very lucky to have been involved is such a project!

  3. We have a river/cliff system that is EXACTLY like you showed. The erosion is revealing these perfect iguanadon tracks in the river bed. They go straight into the 80 ft cliff. I always wondered why they didn't just erode away

    Thanks for the explanation

  4. Behind Ollantaytambo, Cusco, Peru a friend took us out discovering. The men pulled us women up onto a stone that must have been 30' x 15' and 8' high. There were two footprints side by side my size 7. My happiest days in that area were out exploring. Rumi means Stone and Chaka is Bridge in Quechua.

  5. With the dinosaurs extinction 66 MYA mammals took over as the primary species on Earth. For the most part they got
bigger and bigger after the dinosaurs demise. The early Cenozoic Era had an interesting variety of megafuana. This
ancient river was once a magnet to them. Great explanation of how the tracks survived in the rock that was once riverbed
in a lush semi -tropical forest or nearly a jungle. Wonder if there were any little monkeys running around back then? May
just had been our ancestors! Thanks for this little walk through time professor!

  6. In term of geological timescale, it's amazing to think that how mammals evolved from the size of a small dog for it's largest mammal species circa 65 million years ago, to ancient rhinos weighing 4 times African elephants, about 50 millions ago.

10 million years in geological timeframe is just a blink in the eye.

  7. Glad I ran into this channel (of the other kind) yesterday. Really interesting. I'm sure not too many people are fascinated by cow tracks. LOL Me I was fascinated by ending up on top of plateau created during the last Ice Age, within walking distance of the Mississippi river before it turns into a toilet, BY LUCK.

  9. Thanks again Myron! You're teaching us all things we never knew! You took our Burlington Schools teaching staff on a Big Horn Basin field trip almost twenty years ago! I still use what I learned from every time I visit the Basin. Looking forward to more!

  10. I have a problem with the time frame of what science says that the earth is millions of years old, there is no evidence of any proof for this claim, you as others are told this in science classes & then push these theories of misleading others what you all was taught. again, no proof.. all nothing but theories that was accepted to believe in which I don't at all.. what I do believe in is God the creator his son Jesus Christ & the holy spirit. I read the bible through there is NO mentioning of the earth being millions of years old with animals that roamed the land didn't happen.. I believe that when scientists of any kind excludes the Lord these scientists in every field are clueless of everything that push nothing but false information as even when I was growing up going through schools that taught man evolved from monkeys & apes is complete lies…

  11. How and why did the river get fossilized and not the rest? I'm just trying to visualize the process in my mind that led to this. And as always, thank you so much for the videos. May I offer a suggestion as a learning tool, Microsoft flight Simulator 2020 has the visual fidelity to do flying tours with many of the features visualized quite well, this way even remote Aussies can go on vurtual tour with you. Thanks Myron.
