The Princess of Wales is unlikely to be swayed in her fashion choices, despite being dubbed a ‘disappointment’ for her humble choice of jewellery. That’s the view of the Daily Mail’s Royal Editor Rebecca English, who discussed the comments by Suzy Menkes on our royal talk show Palace Confidential.

When Catherine is out & about with ordinary citizens it would be a slap in the face to be flaunting the Royal Jewelry. She's there to meet the people, not flaunt wealth. I think people can easily relate to her just being herself.
Catherine is her own woman I am glad to say, and I believe she loves to give 'small' jewellers a chance to shine, and promote their wares. She is NOT Methane – who would wear diamonds galore for the sake of it. So when Catherine splashes out, WOW! she makes an impact, because usually the pieces have some history to them, perhaps they were worn by the Queen, Diana, or are being aired for the first time in ages. Whatever she wears, she does it beautifully.

How clever the Princess of Wales is when it comes to jewellery. From a pair of slacks worn with a classic blouse and small gold earrings, to a dress with a gorgeous train sparkling in golden fabric see off incredible earrings and necklace topped with magnificent tiara. The jewellery is heavy gold encrusted with diamonds and pearls. What ever the occasion Cathrine seems to make the perfect choice, keeping it simple when appropriate.
Princess Catherine is the epitome of grace, beauty and class. I love her.
Please consider that these visits are a financial burden on the host country. I for one hope that this time they will forget Canada.

I respect Princess Catherine SO much for the wardrobe and accessories choices she makes. The way she deliberately dresses in a muted, respectful manner highlights the charity or causes she supports. When she taking selfies with the public as she greets people she is not overdressed in comparison to them and thus making them feel good in their regular clothes. I she went everywhere showing off her expensive clothes and dripping in Royal jewels she would not be as relatable and accepted by the public as she so MUCH IS accepted. I really feel that PC is the only persons in the RF who can truly relate to the general population as she was/is one of us in the way she grew up. Yes, she may have had more privileges than the average person due to the hard work of her parents however, she knows what life is truly like outside the palace/castle walls. PW & PH have had a taste but with the knowledge of their Royal heritage, they simply cannot know what it is truly like in the trenches of normal incomes or poverty and the struggles faced by the everyday person.
I truly love Princess Catherine’s clothing style. She is ALWAYS appropriately dressed for whatever occasion. AND she looks great no matter what she wears. ❤️🌹👌👍😁💕

We are not all wealthy and Catherine is down to Earth and shows us all you don't need to be dripping in Diamonds to look fantastic. I was shocked that the fashion editor made that rather harsh comment about Princess Catherine. I love the way she mixes and matches her outfits and jewellery. She single-handedly has raised the profile of so many british brands. As for her portrait, its not my favourite. The artist has captured the features beautifully, but the eyes are the wrong colour and too cold, which is not Princess Catherine AT ALL.

How trite people are! Princess Kate is a fashion Icon and her fashion choices are interesting. I applaud her for deciding to add something new. While I hope she will continue to lean on her beautiful royal-style fashion choices, I'm proud that she decided to try something daring. The earrings were a good choice for the message she was sharing.
