  1. Sounds to me like Marco got lost and went way off course of his route, explains why he was never seen by anyone at base camp, or was ever seen after his death.

  2. Seeing so many people in that single file line at the beginning of the video on top of Everest makes the magic and wonder and the lore really fade away. I definitely am absolutely in awe of mountain climbing and this really struck a cord because it's Everest and it looks so commercialized and boring now

  3. George Mallory wasn't one of the first people to summit Everest. He would have been THE first (alongside his partner Sandy Irvine), but there is no evidence that he successfully summitted. Most believe that they both fell on the ascent.

  4. Guy just didn't have the courage to say not gonna happen boys help me get down yeah, all he had to do, but his ego meant even though he felt shitty hed go for it and hope he pulls it off regardless, such a shame. Yes what he did is also a type of courage, just not the right kind this time.

  5. The family members of these "brave" climbers are the ones that are really brave. They sit at home waiting if the curtain will fall on their happiness without any control over it. They are the ones that will have to carry on living with their grief. These "brave" climbers should be a little more brave and overcome their selfish desires to challenge themselves, and start thinking about other people. Your life is not yours alone.

  6. If you're dumb enough to attempt it and you die good enough you deserved to die and as far as your body staying up there good enough that's your last resting place you deserve to be buried there
