  1. You could also try bolstering your citys and army before engaging in a war. That way you wont be caught off guard and might seem stronger to the AI so they wont declare a chain-war on you. But speed is also a nice way to catch them off guard.. Decisions decisions! πŸ˜…

  2. I appreciate the preview. This one’s not for me. Been playing total war for 15 years now, and some of the time periods are more interesting than others but this looks to be the most convoluted of the titles. Hope 3K 2.0 or Medieval 3 is next.

  3. So I do like the fact that when you become weak from losing lots of units AI take advantage of that and declares war. It starts a death spiral but makes sense.

Maybe use a solo general as bait and wait in ambush with main army to make more efficient trades.

  5. Every start seems to have a vital resource out of reach and the 'normal' expansion routes seems to take you away from what you need. As ramasses its stone, recruiting a general turn one and running him down to abandoned stone to settle for 400 food. Also going west before finishing your first province to take pi-ramesses and his stone+food seems strong. (Also sacred land).

Setti seems to lack minor settlement food as major settlements dont seem to make much food.

Amenesses is just godlike, all the gold, best range units great start location.

  6. i can imagine that you might make a Region for Recruiting your Medjay units. like the whole shrine of Ra adding melee defense to those that are recruited. so idk having a Region that mainly focuses around that. then your gonna get a solid boost. it is kinda like in Troy that stacking these "Upon recruitment" effects, cause adding that melee defense is gonna also make 2 handed infantry alot more solid in fighting, even archers not just get bodied in melee combat
