  4. I keep hoping they would port dawn/dusk to newer systems. I loved cyber sleuth although I was annoyed at some of the text. I didn't enjoy next order though. I don't think I want to play ones where you have to haul around single use toilets. I do love the story series and any of the ones that follow a similar pattern.

  9. 1 little Factoid, "International Editions" are more or less exclusively Japanese. I remember being confused that the FF X-2 International wasn't international. AND had more stuff than base.

    IIRC though it did contain the english audio from X-2. Pretty sure Next Order International was similar, it was a JP release of the English PS4 port- which had added a few things like Boltobautamon. I guess International Edition just sounds fancier.

    As for what games might be down the road.
    Yes- Re:Digitize Decode they said wasn't jsut a case of porting it, since it was designed with 2 screens in mind they'd need to rework the UI. (or do that DS emulation stuff that is present in stuff like Zero Legacy collection), OF course they could in theory port Re:Digitize, but that's the inferior version compared to Re:Digitize Decode, which added some stuff (what i dont know i just know it added, at the very least Rust Tyrannomon)

    And who wants an inferior version of a game? IF they even kept the code for said version around.

    The DS era games is possible in a collection format but that also means setting up servers again since Dawn/Dusk, World DS, Lost Evolution, all had some quests that required linking up with another copy. The easiest way of course was via online play. Though I'd say Lost Evolution would need a lot of adjustments since you'd have to put the blow command on like ZR since the switch lacks a microphone. So while possible i'd say they are unlikely.

    World 1, 2, 3 well I rmember Habumon saying a lot of that came down to whether we were talking straight up port, or re master. And lets be honest those models have NOT aged well at all. But I'm sure at least world 3 would sell pretty well even now due to it being well received.

    Savers Another mission/ DW Data Squad could be fun… though I dont tihnk it'd make sense unless we are talking like 2026 for its 20th anniversary lol. Bandai and Toei love their anniversary stuff after all.

    Hell the best thing would be if they ported the wonderswan games bring Ryo's story to the west. That SHOULD be a relatively easy job and could be great to release around the time of 02 The Beginning for maximum hype.

    I will say chances are the multiple games might be new games, we know they've been working on story 6(or 7 if you want to count Hackers mem as 6) for a while now. And lets be real Survive's slowness was due to having to learn and figure out a new game type essentially. Find that balance and such. The Story games alredy have systems in place. We have a base for a 3D Story game (cyber sleuth and hackers memory) so they dont have to take all that time figuring out how to work combat or evolution. Yes story and such will take time and we dont know exactly how long its been in the works- hell what if its a split release like dawn dusk. that could technically be multiple games in the pipeline. 2 is multiple right?

  10. From what I've heard, this Story has been in development alongside Survive, since they stated that while Survive was just announced, so I hope we don't have to wait too long for it. I think the Cyber Sleuth duology is great; probably the best Digimon games I've played and I keep going back to them, so I''d be hyped for new Story, especially if the Cyber Sleuth roster is kept intact and they just add on to that.

  11. Personally. As much as I loved the DS and 3DS's entries in the Digimon series, I understand why it would be tricky. However, the Digimon World AND Story series need a glow-up. My major hope would be additions to the Digimon rosters from the vital bracelet DiM card series, and Ghost Game anime.

  12. I hope they port Digimon rumble arena games. My cousin had 1 on his PS1 and I still own 2 on the PS2 those are very fun games and given Bandai have experience in fighting games they can have their own smash ultimate for the Digimon franchise

  15. I'm hoping that Survive, Story, and World can form something of a loop.

    Survive basically lets you live through an anime, World is a great framework built up around the original V-Pets, and Story is just the easiest to sell to a general audience.

    HOWEVER there is a definitely a part of me that would love to see them make good on the idea from the survey of a Digimon Souls-Like. As a gameplay style which at its core is based around death, rebirth, and regrowth that would really suit the V-Pet side of franchise; maybe the combat could take some inspiration from Astral Chain.

I could see them make like one of those Bundle packs that this other company Capcom is churning out now for their older games, they are releasing the Mega Man Battle Network in 2 different collections (because of course money) but those are GBA games, so it's not really that unlikely to get at least any GBA Digimon Games if there were any, I didn't have a GBA so I never looked.
    If they do actually port the Digimon World 1, I have for the international version the EU version, they don't port the bug that prevents you from getting into that Ogremon area, because the original Disc version can't really be completed without opening the disctray and doing other stuff, so I turned my disc into a rom, applied a patch and played it on an emulator.
    DW1 has me still working on my own tamagotchi game, because I'm missing that game and you legit can not get any Bandai digimon or other tamagotchi in this country…

  18. Habu had already mentioned before that there are multiple new projects in the works, but it seems a lot of people missed that somehow. I don't particularly think they're trying to capitalize on the monster taming thing either, seeing that digimon always does thing on its own pace, and care more about their already existing fans while they try to bring in new people. And Next Order was the last modern Digimon game that was in PS4 jail, so it was kind of the obvious choice for a port, but next game is definitely the new Story title.

    We first heard about the game in 2017, and it was on development alongside Hacker's Memory (and maybe even before that). I'd guess it's going to be a late 2023 release, since it's not unheard of for the Digimon series to release a port and a game in the same year. The game would probably be out already if they didn't have all those issues during Survive's development.

    The most requested ports are Decode and the PS1 World t trilogy. Habu stated that he's more inclined to go with a remake for World 1, since the game is a bit archaic and for Decode they do have to remake the screen layout, which is good thing since they could just make like other devs that just throw the game on steam as is with a a couple of presets for the 2 screens.

    Decode's is already an enhanced port of a PSP game, but Decode has so much more content that I can't see them going with the OG version. Decode is the game that's most likely to get a port with the older games getting remakes. But maybe they can release a collection for the first 3 World games + World X (cause there's nowhere else to throw that game) with a couple of new quality of life features. For a Decode port, I'd like to see them add the option to play the OG game's Story Mode with some of Decode's improvements (Yeah, the story is different between the 2 versions).

    As for a Survive sequel, that's gonna depend on how well the game sold. Habu already said that it could become a third Main series, and considering how quickly they announced Next Order's port and that the Digimon game account is still posting about it, I'd say it probably did well enough.

  22. I'd love to see ports/remasters of the Wonderswan games with Ryo, but given how they tie into 02's backstory and Ken, I can't really see them coming over. Maybe a new Digimon card game video game? The new card game seems to be pretty popular from what I can tell, so I can see them trying to capitalize on that.

    Otherwise, maybe a remaster or new Digimon racing game? Ports/remasters of Digimon World 1, 2 and 3 would be especially welcome, and I'd definitely play through them again (maybe I'd actually beat them all this time, lol!)

  23. People getting excited for a Dawn/Dusk port just because Lunamon and Coronamon were in this video should also consider the fact that their megas are part of the Olympus XIII, which is suppose to be the focus of the next Digimon Story game. So might be a bit for that.

    That being said I would love for Dawn and Dusk to get an official remaster/remake, because as you said a port is kind of impossible atm.
    Just update the visuals, adjust the systems to work with a single screen, and maybe add some newer Digimon (GraceNovamon would be perfect addition).

    Could be interesting to see it in a similar style to Cyber Sleuth (especially since the female protagonist from Dusk cameoed in that game) but part of me would miss the pixel art.

  27. I love this game and glad it’s added a few new things like running as the original PS4 version is a slog to travel.

    I’m going digitally on Switch for my Next Order.

    And multiple Digimon games?! New or ports?! Is the original Digimon World 1 coming back as a remastered?! 😀

  28. If pokemon took diamond and pearl and made them into remakes, maybe there’s a slimmer of hope (with the t-shirt in mind) we would get dawn and dusk remakes, it’s a suuuuuper long shot but that would be so amazing man

  30. I´m very excited for more Digimon! I grew up with Digimon World on PS1 and have been enjoying Cyber Sleuth as an adult, and have purchased Digimon Survive as well.

  35. I'd swallow up anything they port or remake, especially the OG Playstation trilogy. I honestly believe that with the way the franchise is going, it's gonna happen at some point.

    The PSP titles, Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode and Digimon Adventure, I wish those got an official English translation and a port, but that seems a bit further from reality at this point. Still hoping though.
