Trying a new upload for this week. Instead of a Meta Monday episode I’m doing as brief of a video as I can on just the red cards coming out for BT9. There are a lot of goodies and support for some decks, but which cards are better for competitive play and which ones are better for a sealed setting?

  1. I love with each new set they streamline the cards, like how old cards would say if you digivole on top of this digimon reduce or pay a cost for it like the first Imperialdramon or Chaosdramon. Now they just get a black box with the digimon name and a evo cost.

  2. Red is solid, the Greymon line getting protection from deletion and bounce effects is great. Increasing the maximum Dp of deletion effects can be really good for not just Gallantmon but WarGrowlmon X. I hope we get cards that interact with digimon attributes down the line. I was gonna say the same for form but we got some cards that do and more are coming.

A really important thing about the promo Alterous that makes the card good is the fact that its name is also treated as just "MetalGreymon" meaning it fulfills its own digivolution condition of "0 over a MetalGrey". This means you can stack however many of this card on top of each other for a lot of fuel for its inheritable, for free draws (Upstart Goblin-esque), and you can top it off with the MetalGreyX, giving the Greymon decks a lot of speed at the lvl 5s (and low key possibly changing the ratios to more lvl 5s that before, just due to this property of it being a searchable cantrip)
