Mario, it is NOT the BT14/Starter ACE that is driving up MetalGaruru alts. It's EX05.
The set is themed around a specific VPet in which had the MetalGaruru X line. This meant if the set theme kept on theme it will be included potentially one new X form for all 4 Lv of the line (in addition to the ACE support.)
Sure enough, when the "Key Points" marketing was dropped for EX05, we got visual confirmation that MetalGaru X would be key in the set.
The deck is consistently strong across metas so if even one of the new Gabu X forms was worthy of going in the deck, it would be just that much better.
I had my fiancée whose wanted to play the deck grab playsets of the cards you showed from TCGPlayer literally last week the day before the Points marketing image dropped… we literally paid less than ½ of all the current prices.
Sure enough the day the EX05 Key Points marketing image dropped for the set… other people started doing the same.
I just pulled another machinedramon might as well buy and build that deck.

I called the diaboromon ex1 price increase, it's the most expensive diaboromon card. Might still be worth buying one. Keep an eye out because we might see a lot of dias sell out.
