Also, the fact that the survey is only in japanese says a lot about how they feel about our opinions lol.

  1. I can't see how Digimon can appeal to Pokemon fans, even with similarities they're not the same, I understand the heavy Japan focus since its tradition that japanese games focus heavily on their national market since its part of their game philosophy to appeal to their own, a lot of devs have said they acknowledge the western fans, but they don't intend to change their philosophies to appeal to us, thats kinda a double edge sword since they take it too far in the marketing aspect, like ok in Japan its easier to sell out extra material 'n all, but mixing it in a global event is bad for pr imo, it will only make the non japanese fans angry with all the content n material they can't have, unless importing it, you don't attack your audience in any way if you want to maintain them, ATLUS do it a lot as well, I don't think they should change their games to appeal to global standard, but they should make accessible for western fans to have as much material as the japanese fans, even if is in small scale to avoid any possible flop due cultural reasons, I mean Pokemon somehow managed to get merchandise worldwide while still having lots of Japan only content, but I'm sure everyone would enjoy to have the same treatment Japan has with those extra appeals

  2. Like i don't think not having digimon game this year was a bad think yeah they say have multiple project but don't take it like the project will coming soon. Also digimon don't focus on game first, it was a toy and anime first, that's make game was a spinoff of it. That why you don't need expect game or trailer like Nintendo direct for new game in that kind of event because they are diffrent company bandai was toy company not a game. Personally digimon con this year not that worst than i think, like yeah it's suck not having digimon game this year but i feel they can take some rest and learn from digimon survive.

  3. It's just sad that Digimon has lost its charm and popularity nowadays. The Digimon franchise is still there, but what are they doing to it. We haven't heard anything about Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning film, Digimon Adventure (2020) dub, or any brand new Digimon videogames either. I feel like Digimon is losing steam pretty fast. They need to do something to the Digimon franchise or let it fade away.

  4. I enjoyed the Digimon con. From the time slots we were given, I wasn't expecting them to announce a new game, as that was kept pretty short. Maybe they are in the works of making a new game, but they don't have enough to show us. So, while I'd like to hear about more games, I'd rather wait and see what they've got later. As for the rest of the con, I liked it. I like that they are paying attention to all of the different parts of the franchise and giving them their time in the spotlight.

I'm happy they didn't do a Q and A. From what I remember last year, people were asking questions that seemed way too complicated to answer.

  5. That was a fun play vb and chill live stream they did yesterday but holy cow digicon sure is late. Its way past when they said it would stream. Hopefully they go live soon but even if i have to wait some more it'll be worth it when they announce cyberslueth 3 and ps1 digimon world remastered anthology for switch.

  6. There will definitely be a DigiFes in April, new dim cards set to drop, Ghost Game will have ended, Next Order Switch port will have been out for months, and no Frontier 20th talk again. The 02 movie is 100% this year, we know they're advertising it at Digimon Fanmeet this month. As for the vital bracelet news; team battles/tournaments, a single player adventure mode, tamer sprites, a lobby, that's everything I wanted from the VB stuff. I'm shocked they thought of it too.

  7. I honestly just want to know when or even IF the Vital bracelet is coming to Australia. I've been waiting for ages to get my hands on one but it seems like it's never gonna come here, and importing is usually super expensive :((

  8. Tha sad truth is that Bandai does not believe in Digimon, i think they are probably afraid to go to hard on Digimon because they migth believe Pokemon took all the space the market had for this kind of content. Its a shame that they dont realize they do not have to compete with Pokemon, Digimon is its own thing and could perfectly coexist as being Pokemom more mature sibling. Oh, well, maybe one day… Until them i guess i have to be happy with the Next Order port, at least the game is new to me so its gonna be fun to play it for the first time.

  9. I can understand the lack of a Q&A in this year's con for games. As much as I liked the behind the scenes stuff from it, a lot of it last year were saying no to ports and remakes and people didn't really like that section from what I remember. More than likely, they don't really have any news to share about video game stuff so may as well focus on advertising Digimon World Next 0rder to people, and I could see them being a bit nervous about saying anything too early after the whole debacle with Survive.

  10. Digimon acts like they're a big deal having the audacity to do conventions without anything to showcase. garbage franchise. they're focusing too much on Japanese market.

  11. A bit funny how it seems Digimon’s strength is also it’s weakness with Digimon Con. Digimon has survived all these years by existing in a variety of mediums and genres. But when it’s all gathered for a single presentation, parts of it wind up losing our interest because it’s not the part we care about.

  12. I understand why it felt disappointing, but I feel they aren't going to announce anything unless they know it's at a stage they can at this point. Especially after what happened with Survive and the massive delays. I feel people were so pushy about Survive despite being told the little info we had, and when it finally came, people ragged on it. Sure, you disappoint people in not announcing anything, but you also won't give anyone's hopes up if you don't promise anything either.

Regardless, I feel this year's Digicon was better than last years. Lots of merchandise and cards stuff. People can say what they want about the interviews with VAs and stuff, but I feel it's important since the animes make up a good chunk of digimon.

  13. It was not disappointing at all if you're a rational human being. Nowhere on the schedule did they say they were announcing a new game. Digimon Con was not advertised as a news event, so if you went in wanting that then it's your own expectations that failed you.

Digimon Con was an event full of heart and charm. Just because the specific thing tou wanted wasn't there doesnt mean it was bad. There was a ton of news about various aspects of the franchise and several once-in-a-lifetime segments.

  14. My issue with the con is that its marketed to all Digimon fans but the vast majority of the con was spent on the VB which aren't even readily available in the west. I love the TCG but even then I don't care to see people play with off meta decks, as an anime and game fan I felt let down, my only thought on why we didn't get any new game is they don't wanna take away from the release period for Next Order and will wait till after, but if thats the case why not postpone Digimon Con

  15. I'll be honest I had really low expectations for the games at digicon but I was still disappointed in the content, I mean it was just tips for next order for only 10 minutes and the same trailer.

  16. Cycling between a Story and a virtual pet sim (World) game every 2 years, giving each game a total of 4 years development time, would be a great way to go. It'd keep Digimon relevant and appease most of the fans of the genre. They also really need an online version of TCG because it's good enough to get a decent audience but it needs that ease of access and exposure. In fact, with every new game release they should tie a code for a special card in the online version of the game, creating a little digimon ecosystem that rewards you for buying all their products. It's consumerism 101 and idk why they're sleeping on it

  17. The con was trash for me sadly. They touch upon stuff that I didnt even care about. I wanted Video game reveals or remake news and got absolutely nothing. Its sad that bandai doesnt care about the IP or making games for DIGIMON. maybe next year they’ll announce a game.

Seeker project could have been a game idea instead of a novel. smh

  18. bandai japan has been ignoring the rest of the world for quite a long time. it honestly feels masochistic to support digimon and bandai as a whole. there is bandai US, but it really feels like they don't receive enough resources or respect from their parent company since they keep having to release products that were already produced in japan, leading to situations like the vital hero being announced the same day as the vital brace BE.
so the sad truth is that bandai probably wont branch out because they either don't believe in the international market or their not big enough to take it on. and honestly, i would say they're not "good" enough with their constant oversights
