I know everything now after watching a video about the complete zombies story.
George A. Romero… creator of the modern zombie circa 1968 with Night of the Living Dead. Passed away a few years back… great man. Dawn of the Dead from the '70s is probably my favourite though. Day of the Dead in the '80s had a REALLY badass antagonist. "CHOKE ON 'EM!" And well, this opinion may be unpopular, but I also really like Diary of the Dead.
That might actually be the film that started the modification to zombie lore in which "If you die, without a bite, but your brain is intact, you will still change into a zombie despite not having been bitten."
Up until then, at least if I'm not mistaken, you NEEDED to get bitten or scratched to change, and if you weren't bitten or scratched, you basically were immune from turning into a zombie. So that's a development from about 15 years ago if I'm not wrong.
I think I recall one called Survival of the Dead, and I couldn't finish it. Oh, damn, I looked it up, that movie was 2009 and was the last one Romero made before his death in 2017… that's sad. But it was a huge box office flop; 4 million for the budget, made less than $400,000. Ouch…

I doubt the 1st one, as a Croatian I have never heard it, neither has my family that has lived in Croatia since 1987. Also, there was no reason to use the alarm in 1996, the Croatian war ended in 1995, and the year after there were no disasters. Plus, in 1996, sirens were the way of notifying people, and they still are (along with a message system in case of a disaster).
