  1. This hurt the Chiefs and helped the Dolphins. So what’s it matter? Does the NFL not have a company provide these helmets? Or is each team responsible for making their own helmets? Pretty sure the NFL has license with helmet makers. So their product failed why should it cost the team a time out?

  2. Funny, the refs "didn't see" the helmet to helmet Mahomes got hit with, that literally cracked his helmet, but they noticed enough to make him switch it out. Anyone saying the Chiefs get all the calls is just a homer.

  3. I think it was because he wasn’t going to come out. If the player wants to take the time out or sit out, fine. But the refs had to force him to do it.
Besides-they owed KC for the bad block in the back call that dreaded a TD and the missed DPI call…

  4. It's not weird or odd if you know the rules. According to the 2023 NFL Rulebook, Article 5 Referee's Timeout states

"Provided that calling timeout is not in conflict with another rule, the Referee may suspend play and stop the clock (Referee’s timeout) at any time without penalty to either team when playing time is being consumed because of an unintentional delay. Such situations include, but are not limited to:

    G) while repairing or replacing game equipment, except player equipment. (Game equipment is equipment issued and required to be worn e.g. a helmet)

After a Referee’s timeout, the game clock will start pursuant to Rule 4, Section 3, as if the Referee’s timeout had not occurred.

The time remaining on the play clock shall be the same as when it stopped. See Rule 4, Section 6, Article 3."

  5. There were several non clock stoppages in favor of the chiefs as well despite running out of bounds in the forward direction and not be contacted by a defender in the process

  6. Mahomes went head to head with the dolphins defender..that's why he cracked his helmet they never called the penalty and then when he had to change his helmet it should have been a delay of game if they didn't call a timeout what a joke

  7. Alls well that ends well. They also didnt review the play for a possible targeting against Miami. The defensive player launched, and led with the crown of his helmet. There was enough there for targeting.

  8. You expect me to believe that the Dolphins, who scored 70 points in one game this year, was held to one touchdown by a pathetic Chiefs defense. Yeah Right! The NFL is totally rigged. It's obvious to everyone with a brain.

  9. They didnt screw up they did exactly what they did all game helping then chiefs go watch the 3-15 where the refs ignore the egregious hold on the chiefs LT for 5 seconds only to throw a flag on miami 3rd string CB for barely touching the WR 😂

  10. Look at the several plays before that?? Three Miami players, notably number 33, who blatantly slowed down along with two other players to miss Mahomes on that first down near the goal line. Ridiculous scripting at its best. It's near at 1 hour and 49 minutes if viewing the whole game.

  11. When i played, it's been 30 years, so i know a lot has changed, especially with these quick paced offenses. But equipment timeout like this, if it was a quick fix, they would let you do it. If not, you had to go to the sidelines. The fact that the Chiefs had the helmet ready to go avoided the timeout.

  12. Mahomes Is the golden boy and gets special treatment from the refs. Every other team would have had to take a timeout there to get a new helmet but we all know the Chiefs and Mahomes get special treatment this time of year. Nothing new.

  13. Why was he not penalized for taking his helmet off while on the field??? They gave the Bears player a 15-yard penalty for taking his helmet off because he was attracted and had his face mask ripped off.
Ya, and the ref's aren't biaset

  14. My vote is damaged safety equipment should not require a time out. This was not a planned thing and took them out of the rhythm. At only halfway through the 3rd quarter the clock was not an issue yet anyway. This was the ref stopping the game, not the player or team. They could just say they need a ref timeout in order to pick up the broken pieces.

it is weird situations like this that cause rules to be put in place. This is the first time I have seen this issue in the NFL. They will figure it out and have a procedure for it.

  15. Patrick Mahomes targeted Deshon Elliot. He should have been kicked out…. notice he shattered the helmet… and no talk of targeting by the defense. Since the qb did it. Sweep it under the rug. What if Elliot suffered an injury. NFL is obviously rigged. High yellow rigged
