"Help Hutch!" is not a strategy. It's a campaign.
Any defensive player making over $20M a year is going to be the "Big Dog" in the locker room. You'd like that to come from the trenches. But, it could be a guy at LB. If the leader of your Club is a CB, that's a problem.
Let's think about it a bit more: To pay somebody that kind of scratch means he has to get a lot of microphones in his face. Especially in the NFL. Matter of fact, I watched Michael Strahan grow into that role with the Giants. And, they won a Super Bowl. I think he's also in the NFL Hall of Fame.
Now, you cain't get the man OFF these national morning shows that originate out my way.
So, let me know which of these defensive targets can come into a Lions organization and represent the Club to the local media. Because NO player on the roster is going to be the "Big Dog" on a Dan Campbell-coached squad.
