Mike, I hope they were on top of it. That said, I do think when adults go missing, we can do better. Even when adolescents are reported missing, it is often treated as they leave voluntarily and not investigated as a crime scene until later. I think those first few hours can be critical in gathering evidence. We can do better. If funding is the issue, then we need to fix that. There are too many predators in this world, not to treat it as a possible crime immediately. With social media as a tool for bad actions by predators and how quickly people are moved to other states by trafficking, every delay matters. I know this isn't the case with the Rounds, but so often it is, and we need to remember parents and family members know their people, and if they feel something isn't right, they need to be taken seriously and LE needs to have whatever training and funding is needed to begin investigating immediately in missing person cases. This is just my opinion, and I'm aware there are A LOT of reasons policies are in place, I just think we need to do better.
