Ben Johnson is the logical front runner for the Bears head coaching job. The Bears need someone to take control of the Caleb Williams offense to be and who better to do it than Johnson. But does Johnson want to do it? What did he think of Williams at Soldier Field, seeing him for the second time this season? There are two games to go in this Bears miserable season. What can be gained in the last two? There is a lot to cover as always as Herb Howard and Mark Carman host the CHGO Bears Podcast.

  1. It’s no pleasing some of you people. When CWs put up yards and picks yaw said he’s throwing to much. When he was blowing teams out yaw said he’s not playing anyone. When he protects the ball yaw say it would be better if he threw more picks. When he takes the check down yaw say he won’t throw down field. When he throws down field you call it garbage time. CWs is breaking every rookie record and yaw call it a team sport, but somehow he’s the soul reason the Bears are losing. All this CWs hate is unjustified.

If some of you guys were criticized to this level on your job you would have a nervous breakdown

  2. For the life of me, I can’t fathom how anyone could have any faith in Ryan poles to run it back with him. In 3 seasons he hasn’t drafted a single all pro player. He’s made awful free agent signings. He ultimately hired the worst coach in team history and also signed off on him this year when 90% of the rational fans wanted flus fired. He’s had 2 off seasons with a ton of cap
Space and hasn’t done a single thing with it. He’s made really really bad trades. All poles has done is luck into the first overall pick and drafted Caleb. That’s literally it. Herb is a moron.

  3. I want to keep poles but unfortunately for him the bears timeline doesn’t line up with him. He was brought into rebuild and he’s done a great job. This is one of the most attractive job openings since the packers fired McCarthy. Unfortunately for him those top candidates might have enough sway to demand a their own gm.

  4. As much as I know it’s gonna hurt this team you gotta get rid of the cancers. The guys don’t start fucking playing hard for the love of the game they gotta go. This is what you can grade poles on in the off-season. Is it gonna keep the cancers or is he going to get rid of them drag everybody down
    negativity is a killer

  5. If the new coach doesn’t bring in his own gm,HOGE. Tells me he hasn’t done his homework on one of the big problems of this teams been, and is not a HC with any guts to turn this locker room around

  6. This dude is saying people cant be critical because they werent critical during the draft or offseason. Bro its about the product on the field, that what were arguing, the point he is making makes no sense to anyone that passed the third grade.

  7. I have to agree with Herb ..throw the ball take chances downfield..even if you throw a pick…I agree…HOWEVER

We praised Justin Fields for not throwing pics and turning the ball over and he didn’t throw very many balls downfield either 😅…soooo

  8. Herb and Briggs are clowns. Defense and running game are trash and do nothing. But hey, let’s slam the ROOKIE Qb who threw for 300+ yards and 2 TDs with no interceptions. 🤡🤡🤡

  9. Well as much as everybodys talking about Caleb not throwing any interceptions he will surely throw one on Thursday because now its been put out in the universe he hasnt thrown any yet. U guys know thats what always happens. Dont talk about it…..

  10. Omg Herb, Poles needs to go….kept Eberflus in the off season, chase claypool, velus jones who he could have traded, nate davis, Ryan Bates, gerald Everett, punter who is good but 4th round, no way..jury still out on swift, the list goes on…and i could have made the Carolina trade

  11. Folks,

With a new HC, who’s to say that the new staff will want to stay with a 4-3 defense? A change back to a 3-4 would require a lot more personel changes in addition to the o-line. That’s not considering all chatty patty’s on this team that need to get cut!

  12. I don’t understand. Def can’t stop a nose bleed. Off can’t run the ball. But passing game pops off for a bunch of yards, albeit not enough points, and it don’t matter? Or isn’t impressive from a rookie qb stand point? Feels like hating just to hate.
