My theory on the mayfair thing. They bought it so that they can put out games and it will look like a mayfair game so it will have that "pedigree " to fans of the brand that dont follow board game news. And it probably cost almost nothing.
buying up old company names is something that happens all the time. That way whoever can start making new games under the older names and people think it's the same thing but it isn't. This is big in Pianos, old piano brands bought up by Chinese piano builders so they can sell the pianos in America with some brand recognition.

Watching this at work and PRAYING co-workers don't walk by while Monopoly Scrabble is on the screen. That is exactly what I DON'T want them to think of the hobby. 😂
