It’s says everything about Labour that Kier Starmar supported Jeremy Corbyn for Prime Minister and Corbyn’s lover Diane Abbott for Home Secretary. They’d all be in bed together and the progeny would be the embodiment of the monstrous philosophy that Abbott has had the egoistic audacity to verbalise in her truly damming article . There is no turning back…. Her employment must now be terminated once and for the good of all.
I am writing from Australia where we have our own racism problems. Racism is not just an Anglo – Saxon problem about Jews. Nor is it about Gypsies (euphemistically called Traveller peoples now). In the UK the Cymru are known as Welsh. The term Welsh or Wealas means foreigner. The peculiar development of villages of towns and villages (particularly in England) from purely Welsh or Anglo-Saxon, mixed Anglo-Saxon/Welsh is known. The advent of the Normans in the UK (I say the UK because they effected Wales, Scotland and England) added a new level of prejudice. I do not agree with Abbott and her conclusions as they colour based but she raises issues that must be discussed.
So ye defenders: anti-semitism is not a form of racism?
My question is why no Irish nor the traveller community came out complaining ?

I saw the Al-Jazeera documentary on Labour. This "anti-semetism" thing is really a dispute between left leaning and older Jewish members who are critical against Israel and its oppression of the Palestinians, and pro-Israeli members. It is really a heinous purge.
Abbott's problem is not anti-semitism, but stupidity, ignorance and promotion far in excess of her intellectual capabilities.

To be honest, you can’t really withdraw the comment. She made the comment because that’s what she meant. She only withdrew it because of the backlash, not because she stopped believing it.

To be fair to Abbott, I'm from an Irish Catholic background and lived in England for several decades. I was never subject to any discrimination, prejudice or offensive behaviour. Abbott is correct in identifying that skin colour is different. If Abbott walks into a room, she cannot in any way hide her colour. Dave Rich, Danny Finkelstein and Luciana Berger have all be interviewed on Times Radio today. Like me, they have the advantage of being just another white person unless we choose to identify ourselves as Jewish or Irish. That is not to say that discrimination against us does not matter. But for once I agree that this is to a large extent about lived experience on a daily basis and for white Jews and white Irish, it is not the same as for a black Briton like Diane. I never thought I would agree with her on anything, but here she is right.

I see. Let me ask some questions. Anti-semtism is racist but does hatred of Christians count as racism? If hatred of the Irish counts as racism then does hatred of the French count as racism or is it xenophobia? If hatred of travellers counts as racism, why not hatred of hippies? Why is it intolerable that Abbott has asked these questions? Could someone enlighten me without calling me a racist, anti-semite or plain wrong? Surely I have the right to ask questions and perhaps, learn something?
