Im unsure about this. I read the Sin War trilogy before diablo 3 even came out, which seems to be what they are basing d4 off of….. lots of storyline changes.
Inarius and Lilith created sanctuary, thats the same
But when lilith came back, she wasnt aided by anyone in particular, if memory serves.
They dont seem to be covering the story of the warring churches, the Triune and the cathedral (huge plot line there)
Rathma and trag'oul were a big plot line as well, but they seem to have killed rathma off.
Seems like they are portraying inarius as a good guy like tyreal – he wasnt. BUT, i get that it could be decieving here.
Reserving judgment till I see the who story. This does 100% seem to be spun off of the sin war though.
Rathma Dead so early in the game? smh I wanted to see him since I've heard and read much of his lore. I'm also a big fan of necromancy. I hope we get the option to kill Inarius for this

Not trying to be a downer or pessimistic but there's no way the game itself is going to be as good as the cinematics.

I really like where they are going with cut scenes and cinematics in D4 the one thing that really annoyed me was this moving camera in conversations with NPC within the game.
It would be better if they would just zoom in a bit and focus on characters instead of moving slightly from one to another.
And I hope we will be able to turn off the subtitles in full release.

reading the comments makes me realize how impressively stupid some people are now.
After the masterpiece Diablo 2, there was a merely okay DIablo 3. Now, after 13 years of waiting, all I get is this? I sat through this broing ass cinematics, wishing for it to end sooner., except for the last 20 seconds. No plot whatsoever, bland and boring characters, no mentionable soundtrack. Even Diablo Immoral had a better story, shame on you, Blizzard!
