  1. favorite awe inspiring graphics:
    MGS2: "omg the rain!"
God of War II: "that statue is huge!"
    Luigi's Mansion: "it looks CG!"
Rogue Leader: "just like the movie!"

Halo CE: "the tree bark looks so real! the ground bumps from the flashlight!"
Doom 3: "moving urinal shadows! monitor text is so sharp!"
Half-Life 2: "water looks so good! alex is so hot!"
Gears of War: "everything is so shiny in the rain! camera shakes like a documentary!"
Crysis: "those are real palm trees! and they break where you shoot them!"
(nothing for a very long time)
RDR2: "…my goodness pretty much everything!!"
Future games: no idea. may never happen again for me. hopefully Gears E-day. death stranding 2 also looks good.

  2. You need at minimum a 75 inch or HIGHER screen size to appreciate the detail in 8K… lmao… why are people missing this point… you cannot appreciate 8K on a little 35 inch or 45 inch screen and if you are so delusional that you do then your eyes are gonna split into diced eggs.

  3. The upscaling on the SummerGame Fest did NOT look like nearest neighbor. It looked WAY WORSE. It looked like a broken checkerboard rendering issue. Almost like it was badly interlaced both horizontally AND vertically… must have had a scaler or encoder that was either broken or totally misconfigured….

  4. After hearing your analysis, it seems like Black Myth released a physical standard edition, which only contains an activation code in the box. A quick look at the official website reveals that the physical editions of Black Myth are only available in the Deluxe and Collector's editions. Moreover, they are for the PC version, are limited in quantity, and sell out within minutes. The people who purchase these physical editions do so simply because they love the game and want to own its limited edition merchandise.

  5. There was a recent release of an OLED variant monitor that had better pixel layout. The LG 32GS95UE WOLED. ……… The pixel layout is much closer to LCD style layout. It showed to have better text and browsing quality. Optimum (Tech) reviewed it and mentioned it had better clarity for text, but wasn't aware of the pixel layout. …. The Tech Chap did a review of it, and zoomed in on the pixel layout.

I thought Far Cry 5 graphics were exceptional. The tractor models looked passable for real. Trees were brilliant. Stone walls looked excellent.

  6. LEGO fortnite snubbed out of being mentioned. Possibly the best visuals lego has in gaming form right now for all to enjoy with lumens reflection, gi, nanite and way more(specially on PC)

  7. I've been looking for a replacement way to watch all my 3D movies so I can upgrade from my old LG E7 to an LG G4. I feel the Meta Quest3 has too much LCD backlight bleed for movie watching. I also happen to have a PSVR2 so I'm looking forward to trying that out for watching 3D Movies specifically

  8. Anyone else noticed that ghosting is now a thing again? Used to use an old plasma and "upgraded" to oled 4k. Oof. Nice still images but dang, rhe ghosting is giving me the ick like it's 2007 all over again.

  9. About the reason why Black Myth haven't make disc, what they exactly said in Black Myth original website is that:
It is the first time for Game Science to release a console game globally, and we are currently facing limitations in offline resources required for the import, export, transportation, distribution, and sales of physical discs. These factors have made it difficult for us to sell physical discs simultaneously with the official release of the game.

Our publishing team is actively working on resolving these issues and exploring options to offer physical discs.

  10. It's funny. You guys are talking about needing to get close to a TV to be able to resolve 4K details, so I went up to the TV to look closely, and I noticed that your background for DF Direct isn't 4K and it looks blurry seen up close.

  11. I honestly don’t think dlss frame gen can achieve 4k240. I’ve never been able to push it beyond 180-190 fps regardless of settings. I think the overhead is too high. I can do 4k170 on nfs unbound for example and the fps doesn’t change with frame gen on. Food for thought

  12. It's funny, I fell in love with that demo for far cry when I had a 9800 pro so when I built my PC, I built it for far cry, and as a result.. It happened to run Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 just fine lol. Best PC I've ever had by comparison to the technology available, and the level I had at it.. That's still probably my favorite game of all time.. It did more things.. It did them the way that they did them.. overall just better than every thing else for me.

That moment when you come out of the tunnels, and the entire valley is at war and you have to get from one side of it to the other, and a hang glider is only going to take you some of the way there, and where it takes you is going to highly influence the success of being able to make it the rest of the way there.. It was like this peak moment where I finally just felt completely desensitized to video game violence.. that actually was a moment where it couldn't get any better, and it really hasn't for me.. But not graphics wise, just experience-wise.
