  1. Speculation…. I think MS made the agreement with Nintendo under the agreement that an upgraded Switch was on the way and that's what would be targeted, still a Switch.

  2. Can't wait to hear how everyone on the crew feels about the TLOU PC release next week now that we know Iron Galaxy is actually doing it. I think that the port could still go either way, but it's not really a good sign that they released the specs sheet and then revised it to add the Iron Galaxy logo…

  3. I'd rather have a Single Player Only game, without "In Game Purchases", so must so that when Bethesda Softworks (Publisher), inserted one into F4, and Skyrim SE, my love died.
I removed both games from my Steam Account, F4 was 2 years old, SSE 1 year old, when Micro{Trash}actions were inserted after release, the absolute worst offence, in my Book.
I bought F4+Season Pass @ launch+1,000s hours modding, SSE was a please mod this for the consoles bribe, and the required SkSE64, released with the cash shop, so never modded that..
Trust Gone. No Micro{Trash}actions, No Excuses Accepted, No Exceptions Allowed.

  4. It's funt what Sony is doing because they are doing this since PS4 era 🤣 just look at the Calisto Protocol and what happened with the game on other platforms 😂 SONY got the code for the game and mess with it so Xbox on pc version can be worst so the best platform to play the game is PS5 and that's why I will never buy anything from that studio, Yeah I will get PS5 but I will never play Calisto unless its for free on game pass.

  5. It’s awesome seeing/hearing Oliver flex on TLoU details/knowledge! 😝 BTW, is oliemack using a phaser or echo setting on his mic?! It’s definitely noticeable…there’s something there…

  6. When it comes to game engines, I think they are dropping off and mostly because games and game engines are becoming so complicated, that it's becoming harder to create your own in-house engine whiles competing at the high end.

But, I do think a lot of publishers and games studios, won't want to depend on anyone or two companies for their engines and I think because of that, many publishers and developers could end up funding open source engines, to make them a lot better for their need, basically, take the control out of everyone's hands whiles having many funding an open solution, the advantages would be no royalties, it's open and accessible to any developer to make modifications to it for their own needs and most important, it's transparent, with no one controlling it and all it would take is enough funding from enough publishers and developers studios to be a competent engine, and it has been done before, Blender is a prime example of that.

As for the PC build videos, it would be nice if they did one every year and based on low, mid and high-end tier hardware.

As for Moore's law slowing down, that more or less impacts all chips, regardless of x86, ARM's, CPU, GPU or any other silicon chips, but with enough motivation and competitions in the market, progress will find a way and basically, switching to ARM's won't really make a difference because they both relies on the same technology that creates chips.

For the ultra settings bit, I tend to find it's all about bangs for bucks, I feel that ultra settings are designed to sell higher end hardware, but most games are not designed with them in mind, they are designed around consoles, and because of that, what really matters is getting the trade off with the best performance for overall best image quality, after all, it's all well and good going for ultra settings that can hit performance by 30%, but the visual uplift is marginal and personally, I tend to lower settings if the visual impact is minimal and more so if there is a decent performance gain.

  7. Apparently Rich and I have a lot in common with our build tastes. In my most recent build, I went with the Fractal Design Define Mini C, without glass side panel. Zero internal lights. Just a black box that shits out the images I need it to.

  8. It looks like they've updated the specs and added an Iron Galaxy logo to it (the same developer that ported Uncharted to PC). Iron Galaxy did a pretty good job with the Uncharted ports, so that makes me feel a little better. They also replaced the nonexistent 5800xt with the 5700xt, but I think everyone already knew what that typo was supposed to be.

  9. The fact Jim Ryan thinks that sabotaging the competition is a thing you CAN do makes me wonder if he’s talking from experience. I hope not. I hope it’s just another of the wildly disingenuous arguments that Sony has been pushing to block the merger & NOT to get an actual COD deal, HIS words. Sony’s arguments, especially considering that in the past it’s them that carved out modes for PS exclusivity & exclusive content from other 3rd party games like Hogwarts & Avengers, are in cynical bad faith. They themselves just bought Bungie, who insisted on continuing support for Xbox, but we all know that won’t last beyond Destiny 2. Anyone remember Ryan & Sony championing how MS & Xbox users might feel about that? Me neither. MS should just give COD parity for $70 as their player base was totally accepting of that price when they raised it. Anything to stop them crying, get it done as this bickering is becoming unseemly, then plunder the REAL value in ABK, the numerous unused IP’s languishing in the vaults.

  10. I'd love to see your boring, utilitarian PC builds. I just want to play games, I'm not interested in building a spaceship, so I'd love to see how you guys get it up and running as efficiently as possible.

  11. "Microsoft is on a roll right now…"

Goes on to mention only 1 game (as it's the ONLY game they can mention)… this sort of defeats that silly statement.

I mean, I HOPE Starfield will come out good… but the more I see of it, the more I doubt it will be anything amazing.

  12. When it comes to game engines, there is a lack of understanding of what a game engine actually is. Often times, the visuals are being spoke of, which in reality has more to do with the authoring of the art assets, scene construction and lighting. The rendering of those art assets is done by the graphics engine, which is a part of the overall game engine itself. Game engines empower game developers to make games. Making games involve a whole lot more than putting a pretty animation on screen. There is a multitude of reasons behind choosing one game engine over another that have nothing to do with graphics.

  13. Man personally I’m really bummed Starfield is coming out in the fall. It was my #2 most anticipated game this year and I was excited to have it in a few months to take up that part of the year in May or June. But now it’s a week after BG3 my #1 most anticipated game this year so it will have to wait a while. I guess I should have known Microsoft always has to have their heavy hitters in the fall.

  14. 23:35 This isn't crazy at all. Micro$oft has a very long and dirty history of these kind of underhanded, monopolistic cutthroat tactics, and Sony obviously knows it. Micro$oft has sabotaged many other competing products in the past. Sony is wise to be weary and concerned about this.
