It was December 27, 1992, and Lieutenant Colonel Gary North would not let the Iraqis trespass into the no-fly zone imposed around the Kuwaiti border. “The Box,” as the aircrews called it, was a restricted area implemented by the United Nations to protect civilians in Iraq and neighboring Kuwait from Saddam Hussein’s abuses.
As he led a squadron of four F-16 Falcons, North was warned of a contact rushing at high speed toward their position. He immediately ordered two of his pilots to go after the enemy, but in a matter of minutes, the hostile aircraft was inching closer to his position.
The leader then instructed his men to cut off the threat, impeding his escape route and forcing him into combat. As he would later recall: (QUOTE) “Someone was going to die within the next two minutes, and it wasn’t going to be me or my wingman.”

Where do I start? You talk about a MIG-25 Foxbat while you show a photo of a F-18 Hornet. Fail! Then you tell us Colonel Gary North was flying in an F-15 Eagle, but after he shoots down the MIG, you say it marked the first F16 combat kill if USAF service. So which is it? An F-15 or an F-16? You owe your viewers an explanation!
" SADDAM HUSSAIN CAME TO POWER " IN IRAQ !??? LOLS😆😆😆😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂 PIECE OF SHYIT AMERICAN PROPAGANDA STILL AT IT HAAHAAHAHAAHAA 😆😆😂😂🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂 👌

Any precious thing found in other third world country
Le America: This country needs democratic government
God bless murica, and all their oil interests 👍
We totally left the Kurds out to dry in that war. Just disgusting for bush senior to tell them to raise up then let saddam use his helicopter ms to go kill them all.🤦♂️ One of the worst betrayals we have ever done to a race of people trying to survive.
6:56 those peeky Mig 25s dressing up as FA18s!
"We went to war for oil!" Okay… so why isn't Kuwait a US territory?
Misleading title
Your sumary statement of why Iraq went after Kuwait is incorrect.
Canada ain't shit…USA
Are there internet channels in Canada that talk about Canada’s participation in the Gulf Wars or is this the only place where history is talked about ? Just asking…..Everybody (western nations) hates my country and constantly heaps abuse and ridicule on the US but complains when an American overlooks mentioning their participation in a military operation led by America. I would think uber-Progressive Canada would want to minimize their assistance they provided to “The Great Satan”. There is a reason why disaffected American Progressives move to Canada……
Sad . Being the USAs friend used to mean something . The USA LIED ( WMDs ) , and murdered their friend and ally , murdered 250 000? civillians and destroyed a country , for oil . Sad.
you told him to play this so called dictator so you and your friends could show and use your military weapons and training which also scared other countries
The sanctions killed 500,000 Iraqi kids and was worth it according to medeline Albright.
If Kuwait hadn’t any oil the USA hadn’t reacted anyhow.
The world went to Kuwait rescue when Irak invaded for no reason… then now, the world does nothing to save Ukraine invaded by Russia for nothing…
I was in Desert Storm and one of my friends was a Ranger ON THE GROUND IN IRAQ on 02 AUG 1990…the day Iraq invaded Kuwait. He was in a firefight that day inside Iraq and his Ranger buddy was killed. So, America had our units inside Iraq BEFORE Saddam invaded.
Why didn't the United Nations take action like this when Russia invaded Ukraine?
I was on my first tour in Multinational Force and Observers in Sinai Egypt when this happened.
Saddam used chemical weapons on his own people??? I thought there were no WMD in Iraq???
Best military operations ever been without massive civil casualties
What you will do if Israel don't destroy Iraq Nuclear Program? What with Iran?
Ah I get it. Ukraine doesn’t have oil so they don’t need direct intervention to help them. Kuwait did and Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries did.
interesting how you spinn it…
you kindly forgot about the FALSE WMD weapons claim, on what the IRAQ was attacked…. on a LIE!
you as well forgot, that the USA, France and GB supplied Saddam Husein with arms and intell to attack Iran… how convenient
when anywhere on earth in the 20th century arms have been raised, you have 95% probability, USA was involved inmsome way or other
and when RF is currently doing 30% of all you described here… the whole western world is outraged
hypocrites
So it was a “Humanitarian-Mission”
oh fark off
Bombs nipples at 2:48. I guarantee some algorithm flagged you for that.
Biggest reason we dominated was hardly mentioned, the AWACS. I may be biased as I served in the USAF in the mid 80's as a computer programmer (552nd AWAC Division). The ability to see the whole battlefield real time and command/control forces came of age with the E3A AWAC.
