Destiny 2: Titans Are Already Mad About Strand (Strand Lightfall Preview)

We are still 3 weeks away from Strand being in the game, but Titans are already mad about it. Let’s go over what Strand is going to be like when it goes live and why Titans are big mad.

  1. The thing about being a Titan in strand is that even if Strand is the most fun we've ever had in the class for a while, it still is just another melee-CC based subclass, and that begs the question: If that is the most fun we can get of that specific playstyle… Then what's the point of Stasis? Or Striker? (outside of grenade spam of course).

All three of those subclasses seem to share the same power fantasy of "Go in, be an unstoppable machine" So that means you will opt only on the one that's the best/ most fun out of the three, since they are all the same flavor, there's no reason to run the other two, or almost no reason to outside of burns.

Solar and Void have clear differences, Solar is the AoE damage/healing with no real CC, Void has utility and is more defensive. Stasis and Strand seem to be "Striker… BUT *Verbs*"

  2. Here is my take/ rework of this super instead of gauntlets. Give of a spear or "needle" that you can toss and overpenetrate enemies and a shild like a spartan for blocking. When attacking or tossing, you leave behind a thread the hooks and pulls enemies and explode. Much like a vortex grenade. May e maje a grenade that you toss, and it shoots out like a spike grenade and implodes pulling enemy's in and explodes out suspending all caught in it?

  3. What frustrates me is Titan is a warrior, a martial upfront knight and unfortunately they can’t imagine that in any other way other than punching. Give me like a halberd, or a big great sword or something. Warriors aren’t limited to only punching shit

  4. Im honestly thinking lightfalls gonna be a flop. Low key, unless things get repmtely mlre challenging and less repetitive, I dont see how another subclass thats probably gonna annihilate everything will keep me in the game longer than a few weeks or a month, let alone following seasons

  5. As a warlock main I can understand the dissapointment Titans feel. I mean just look at the differrence between both classes. The one is this bizzarre brand new idea that bassically turns you into a fucking broodlord controling a swarm of spiders/ bugs and the other is I punch things but this time green.

Also good on them for easing up on the grind for the new Subclass. I still don't use Stasis for any of my three Characters simply due to the fact I cannot be asked to grind/suffer through the bullshit requirement needed to unlock even basic shit such as grenade options.

  6. Gotta say I agree with pretty much everything he said. I could really enjoy the tank building but am pretty afraid it’ll ship weaker than Stasis is currently. My stasis usage is <1% and I’m afraid strand will be the same

  7. The Titan super just feels uninspired. I'm sure in gameplay it'll be more complicated than simply punch, but I don't use Fists of Havoc for a myriad of reasons (Thundercrash).

I would rather they play into the Titan's strength: have the player reach toward the ground, grabbing hold of bunch of threads, raising them up then slamming downward, sending a tidal wave of immobilizing Strand energy. It should travel for a brief moment before fanning out and finally dissipating with a lesser effect. Those hit in the initial wave are dealt massive damage, those hit at the tail end of the wave are dealt minimal damage but still suffer some of Strand's effects.

  8. would have loved the titan super to be something like well of radiance. single giant aoe slam that kills small enemies and creates an area of strand that severs nearby enemies and gives woven mail to allies in the area.

  9. Bungie Has just kinda gone
Titans are Punchy Bois (Titans should get another Ranged Super like even if it was just Dawnblade projectiles on the left click)

Warlocks Summoners (Arc Souls and CoOG are kinda mid in endgame PvE and Stasis Turrets are pretty good) and Im kinda over the whole Warlocks arent great at supporting other teammates cause we gave all grenades & keywords to everyone thing

Hunters get Air Dives (Stasis, Void and Stasis have Dive which does x keyword) which have been fun for about 5 minutes before you realise that its probably not wise to shatterdive enemies in GMs
