Destiny 2’s Lore and Story from the Season of the Seraph finale contains a lot of easter eggs and references to Destiny’s earliest story and most important lore on the Darkness. This includes references to the Veil and the Unveiling Lore book as well as throwbacks to some of Destiny’s Original art.

The lore book at 1:30 is definitely of the Solar System… While the "Sun" might also represent the "Traveler"…. Must be a meaning behind why the dotted outlines converge at Mars… and the concept art at 12:26 doesn't rule out Mars being the background planet.
We need armor ornaments of those OG fireteam.
How can you miss Elsie’s reaction? That’s obviously a ghost reviving Rasputin. What else could they be looking at in a room with no windows while also facing the damn exo frame?
I first heard of an "Outside Context Problem" in Iain M. Banks' fine work, the novel "Excession". Gotta love The Culture novel series.
I have been a Rasputin simp since destiny one and I feel like he was done so damn dirty here
15:30 anyone also notice a titan symbol on the left of this scene too?? :0
Rasputin was out here calling codes like he’s Prince calling out basketball plays. 😂
The shot of the pyramid ships by Saturn is also a mirror image of the "Fleet" symbol in VOW
The pyramid ships have always reminded me of stargate
Puts a whole new meaning to “sleeper” simulant
Hear me out, what if [○] realised that the city would have been hit by the warsats if it stayed in place? What if it was in the process of moving to a point the city would be able to survive the blast radius? Thus as the warsats crumble it had no reason to move farther?
One of my favorite lore books. The Unveiling
What's up with the Crow putting his hood on and walking off like he had some nefarious deed he had to get to?!?
i like to think if the code matrix being RSPN himself, sure he's aware we see him as the exo-frame and he never brings it up, but AUROA SACRIFICE deleting the code matrix, part of me feels like that was Bungie telling D2 WARMIND vets that he was truly gone…yes, it was deleted as Ana pulled the plug (akin to how comatose patient families pull the plug for life support if there's low chance said patients might wake up being an analogy to her killing, what i would see as Ana's life work, both her Mortal Golden Age work, and her work circa WARMIND on) on the frame. I'm still expecting Bungie to return Rasputin as a Guardian as when he took over the Exo-frame he gained Clovis's Voice Print who, kind of ingenious, shares VA with Banshee (if you know, you know).
I have seen the traveler from the room you defeat the wizard in and thought it was perfectly normal. I don't know how large the traveler actually is
Bro… gonna need everything up to light fall vid… been gone a minute
The fact that we are now supposed to fight for the Traveler when it blatantly tried to leave us for dead and only stayed because it had no choice is really crazy. I will be listening to Zavala say defend the traveler and crack up some guardians are like religious fanatics no matter how bad the traveler has revealed it self to be Zavala and many others will die defending it. What I am trying to say is good story writing Bungie.
@mynameisbyf I haven't seen anything on this anywhere. There is a point in the cutscene @ 1:50 where eramis looks behind her at a door as if she was expecting someone/thing to be there.what are your thoughts on this.
@my name is byf. What if the traveler is the guardian of smth the darkness wants, and he fled to protect it while looking for suitable champions, could explain why he left the eliksni (they were not worthy enough or strong enough) but now that he found us, he's ready to surrender himself in our care to protect it. what are your thoughts on that idea.
I've been assuming that most characters' interpretation of the Traveler leaving has been incorrect. Rasputin made the calculation that firing on the Traveler would leave nothing left for the hive to conquer. That's based on the Traveler's location placed above the city.
The Traveler moves as the weapons are charging, meaning it could be adjusting its position in the event that they fire before we are able to upload Rasputin. This probably wouldn't save all of the city but likely increase probability for some survivors. Just thought I've been having bout the Traveler's motives
Also , take another look at the cover of that book that is clearly a representation of the Sol system note the larger dots for Jupiter and Saturn complete with its rings!, the final battle was ALWAYS meant to happen at SOL
Look at the flavor text for the Sleeper Simulant:
MIDNIGHT EXIGENT: Status: Still in progress
We see that during the final mission as well, basically that everything that's been happening has been happening for a long time and is the darkness' attack on humanity.
Fitting.
I re-read the Unveiling lore book. The Witness is finally hear to get an answer from us. To see if we'll become one of its Disciples. To "count ourselves among the victorious few."
I know it has reason to lie, but I do think that the Traveler and the Witness' existence in The Flower Game is the real problem. They are both (to different degrees) out of balance.
Can we also mention how the Calus statue looks like the Sphinx? Ancient Egypt link, and they also built the Pyramids. Maybe the Witness or some other emissary of the Darkness visited us back then. Cuz Bungie really loves playing with how ancient Humanity works out.
I was rereading the old Unveiling lore books and there’s an interesting note I had. In the Final Shape lore entry, the entity speaking refers to itself in singular pronouns. It uses “I said,” “I asked,” which is not the Witness’ speech pattern. It always speaks in plural pronouns. Even earlier in Shadowkeep, when we are pulled into the Black Garden, the clone of our Guardian uses the repeated “We” pronoun to refer to itself. This leads me to believe there is a fundamental difference in these two entities. It could be that the Winnower only became many different faces of the Witness after the flower game, but there is a very real distinction between the Witness and the Winnower
I did not catch the OG fireteam from the D1 commercials, that's awesome.
So you're telling me these satellites have just been chilling for hundreds of years and they just now became relevant? Lame.
I'm curious about the possibility of Rasputin being revived by the traveler as a Guardian. We've seen AI revived in an exo body before with Felwinter, so why couldn't it happen with Rasputin too? The only issue I can think of is that Guardians are always revived in the body in which they died (otherwise the exos would've been revived in their human bodies), so it's possible Rasputin's permanent Guardian body would be Seraph Station itself.
Eido mimics Eramis when she reaches her arm out
At 5:55, "Cogito" means "I think" in Latin, so it's possible it is instead referring to the sentience of "RPSN-01".
Also, after Rasputin death you can hear a little ghost chirp sound. He'll be back
ISR is a military acronym, "Intelligence, Sensors, Reconnaissance".
