John Kingdon estimates he’s had thousands of dollars worth of merchandise stolen from his mailbox in the last year and a half.
Sam, who lives 15 minutes down the road from John and asked 9NEWS not to use her last name, said a recent string of fraudulent purchases on her credit card made her realize her mailbox has been picked through for months.
They both called Steve On Your Side as frustrations in their neighborhoods grow over ongoing theft from their Central Park cluster mailboxes – theft they say the USPS isn’t doing enough about.

😂Denver USPS sucks…they regularly say they attempted a delivery and didn't have access causing me to have to go to the Post Office…when Im home
TRASH 😂
We know who is doing it. Let’s say it together “ILLEGAL MIGRANTS”!
Cool. Felonies. All around.
How do we know this ‘stolen key’ thing isn’t an intentional act by DeJoy to lessen the popularity of the USPS? Creating less pushback when Trump privatizes it as yet another way to enrich the elite at our expense.
Communal mailboxes are aids
DeJoy wants the USPS to fail so they can privatize it. Then rates will go through the roof and service will continue to decline.
Think they would pay my bill's, if they broke into my mail box, cause thats all that i get in the mail.
It's an employee
Most of you voted democrat in CO so 🤣🤣🤣
Call the postmaster general and file a complaint. It is an inside job, willing to bet. Also you can have your mail held too.
Here's an idea! Maybe go back to delivering mail to people's homes!
Even if it couldn't be done permanently, you know, like we pay for, they could do it until they finish designing the new electronic boxes. They could also add surveillance. Permanently affix cameras both outside and inside the boxes, then impose very harsh penalties and enforce them!
What do you expect from a postal service "cluster box?"
Smith and Watkins
For those wondering why they can't change the locks they are essentially secured in permanently as per government regulations for a outside lock to prevent thieves from sneaking the lock out to figure out the pin sizes to sneakily make their own master key.
If you feed me I'll sit on a rocking chair with a shotgun
they need to sue the post office
It's probably just the typical USPS employee
I HAVE AN EXCELLENT POSTAL CARRIER, KATHY, BOULDER COUNTY!❤🎉😊
Complain to your federal lawmaker. USPS is a federal agency.
USPS is a shit show. Watch the video where the postmaster is at a congressional hearing. He just sits there like an idiot denying everything and actually puts his hands over his ears like a 5 year old.
usps is a worthless company.
I worked for the post office. Informed delivery is bs. Because most employees don't follow it
Why Don't you pay for the locks 9 News and it will happen.
How do you know it's not the mail carrier
Letter carriers are being killed for these keys. Fact.
It’s happening a lot in Houston, TX as well. My boss reported a break in at his office and even captured the thief on video. Nothing has been done. It’s very common here.
USPS IS A EFFING MESS
Usps is a joke
USPS Customer: "A postal worker was robbed at gun point in our neighborhood and the master key was stolen."
USPS: "What is the problem?"
USPS Customer: "My mail is being stolen and thieves are using my credit cards."
USPS: "What do you want us to do?"
USPS Customer: "Replace the locks."
USPS: "Your locks aren't broken."
Did they steal the key or did someone give it to them . Ive had several problems with one location and kept reporting it, now Englewood I had a xcel payment not show up..
