Bryant Cook plays Delve-o-Machus (Pioneer Neoform) in a Pioneer League on Magic: The Gathering Online! These matches were played on: 04/21/22
Delve-o-Machus is also known as Pioneer Neoform is a deck that uses delve creatures such as Hooting Mandrills or Tasigur, the Golden Fang to put an expensive creature onto the battlefield to sacrifice to Neoform. We accelerate into these delve threats with a package of blue cards that includes Consider, Otherworldly Gaze, Taigam’s Scheming, and Contingency Plan.
These blue cards mean that we can often cast our delve threats on the third turn and on that same turn play Neoform to put Velomachus Lorehold onto the battlefield. We then attack with Velomachus Lorehold and use the trigger to find our Time Walk effects such as Karn’s Temporal Sundering or Part the Waterveil. On our additional turn, we can use those blue effects to stack additional Time Walks on top of our library until the opponent is dead. If you’re a fan of Taking Extra Turns, you’ll love this deck!

At 16:40 Bryant says this deck is affordable, he forgot that Mana Confluence is $40/ea!

I wonder if Tamiyos Safekeeping is a good option to protect Lorehold from Otowara and other spotremoval.
Love this deck. Faster and with less decision-making than Lotus Field, so it's more my speed 😅 Some versions of this deck include Invoke Calamity so that if you draw any extra turn spells, you can hit Invoke Calamity with Velomachus and then use it to cast an extra turn spell from your hand (or your graveyard).
Let's goo! It's for sure a deck that keeps some mid range decks in check.
How to pronounce the RW Dragon's name: Vell-ohh-mock-uss Lorr-hold
I had built this in paper but I quickly sold out of it. It's too all in on the combo in my opinion and gets blown out too easily.
What do you think about the builds playing invoke calamity? It adds copies of turn spells. And love the gameplay!! Keep it up!
Definitely agree with the four Thoughtseize version. This deck is the glassiest of glass cannons and you really need that turn 1 disruption. Maybe one Invoke Calamity could come in over one Consider? The risk of whiffing on extra turn spells with just 8 (and the possibility of them getting stranded in hand) seems a little too high for comfort.
Semi-related, do you think it's better to mill the surrounding cards if you Scheming and see an extra turn spell? I'd be curious to see how the stats come out on that – you only want one extra turn per look because Velomachus puts the unused cards on the bottom, and milling away non-extra turn spells before firing up Velomachus seems like it would ever so slightly increase your chance of hitting two in one shot and then whiffing on the next. Of course, there's possibly a near equal chance of not hitting the next one if you don't mill them away, hence the need for somebody to actually analyze it mathematically.
Love it! Pioneer is rocking at my LGS.
What is the average shipping time from your website?
Cool deck! I'd like to add that Indomitable Creativity is also legal in Pioneer, so there's another way of putting Velomachus into play.
I don't think the mana in pioneer is good enough to cast both thought seize and neoform consistently. It's a 1-2 color deck format if you don't want to take guaranteed losses to color screw.
love this video. have had a lot of fun playing it on cockatrice. hope to see another neomachus video – maybe with one of your brews 💗💗
This deck seems super cool, I really enjoyed watching this! Would love to see the list you would run if you feel like doing that sometime! Thanks for the great video as always!
